  1. I know you don't. It's ok. I'm saying I'd prefer to pass on Eovaldi. A guy with tremendous stuff who never seems to be able to put it all together. I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe that actually makes him a *good* candidate for this organization with the way they've been able to coax good performances out of guys like Lyles and Voth and turn around a guy like Kremer. So maybe I shouldn't be as opposed to Eovaldi as I initially had been.
  2. Talking about arbitration years and service time is exhausting.
  3. Milligan's unpopular opinion: Hold him back after ST, don't let him go north with the team. Rather, calculate his innings limit and work backwards from there, including allotting innings for the playoffs and bring him up whenever that date is. People are gonna be piiiiiissssed if he comes up, throws great and they shut him down in late August/Early September because he's hit some inning limit, meanwhile the team is fighting for some playoff berth. No, start him later in the season so he can pitch through September and into October if we're fortunate enough.
  4. Can't wait to see the pitch count/innings limit they'll have him on and the ensuing moaning and groaning about it.
  5. Looking forward to figuring out what an "Offensive Strategy Coach" does.
  6. Curious to see how long MLB enforces this rule. I'm sure everyone will be on their best behavior for the first few months, then we'll see if it's still a thing after the ASB.
  7. I'm assuming the plate discipline would translate.
  8. I kinda like this new 2020s SG that shows some semblance of feeling and humanity. Way better than the 2000s version.
  9. The schedule of impatient fans, duh. I don't think anyone here would argue against bringing up the prospects from the minors. In regards to the Astros specifically, I'm more impressed by their pitching than anything else. They don't seem to have a dud in their rotation or their bullpen.
  10. I'd actually find it hysterical, too. Or if it really WAS me and then I just denied ever being there.
  11. I didn't know what you looked like until now.
  12. I think the one that's more valuable is Urias. He can hit a little.
  13. WAR! Good God! What is it good for?!?! Putting an end to baseball debates! Say it again, now! Know what? I'm ignoring WAR. I don't care. That's right, Froberto Duran, take your rWAR fWAR and whatever else and kick rocks with it. The answer is Gregg Olson. Cause without him, the Why Not? team that we all love to reminisce about probably doesn't make it to the final weekend in Toronto as a contender. And as fun as this past season was and as much as Adley meant to it, backing into a playoff wildcard spot isn't the same as playing for a division title back when winning your division actually meant something. And since we're on the subject, here's the entire 1989 Orioles highlights video which features him prominently. Yes, I just ruined any productivity you guys had hoped for on a Wednesday morning. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Adley.
  14. TL; DR Yep, there's a lot he can do, it should be a very interesting offseason. First offseason I've been looking forward to in awhile. It'll be nice not to have to look at whoever we get in the Rule 5 as our big get for the offseason, at least I hope.
  15. Hats off to Urias! I thought he had a great season with the glove.
  16. I think you want to keep the Joey Ortiz fan club to yourself. I don't think you want anyone to be able to share precious Joey with you. @justD, thanks for the rundown, this was a fun read and I enjoyed the photos. ALMOST made me want to sign up to be a Birdland member.
  17. You got that close to Joey Ortiz? @RZNJis very jealous.
  18. I've got nothing to add except that I hate all Philadelphia teams and their fans. Pretty cool town, though.
  19. He's hardly ever healthy. If they want him, fine. Sign him, and don't let him start until July. Maybe he can make it through the 2nd half of the season intact and be a big boost for a playoff run. But there's no chance that he makes it through a complete season. I'm half kidding. But I'm really not interested in him.
