  1. For being such a big dude, Lowther throws wads of tissue up there. I'm assuming it would be the basketball equivalent of being 7 feet and not being able to dunk.
  2. Another thread about these average guys? We give these guys move love and attention than their parents do.
  3. What? No, weirdo, it's a criminal act. IT IS A CRIMINAL ACT. Whether he did it or not is what is being investigated. THE ACT IS CRIMINAL. And that's just the way it is.
  4. Right? I mean, if they're not criminal what is he under investigation for?
  5. I wouldn't be thrilled if they got Bauer. But I also wouldn't hate it. I'm tired of the Orioles being bad. I don't care if they win the World Series with 25 psychopaths. Just win. I don't have to root for a team full of saints (and I don't believe I do right now). Long ago, I stopped looking at athletes for moral guidance. And if he's playing baseball again, I'm assuming he's been found not guilty. That said, I'm getting the feeling that he'll never play again.
  6. Right, but you can't tell who can do that based off the number of runs they've scored.
  7. I always thought scoring runs was the biggest overrated counting stat. It relies a lot on who's behind you in the order and as we're seeing here...if it's not that great, you're not going to score runs.
  8. Not sad about having to leave off Henderson and Mayo. That means things are getting a bit deeper, IMO.
  9. I was there. Cousin (Red Sox fan) picked me up when I was working in Arlington. Somehow got a luxury box out in LF. Watched the whole thing. He was groaning when we got in the elevator to leave. Groaned a lot when the Tampa final was announced. What a great game. What a great day.
  10. I think it could also be chalked up to him being tired. As I said, this is the most he's ever played. IIRC, it's the most he's ever played at any level.
  11. How many of us picked Mullins to be a 6 win player this year? Yes, that's right, none of you. So it's anyone's guess as to what he'll do next year, too.
  12. I'm not willing to make any proclamations about what he will or won't be moving forward. All I know is that he's the OD CF. Whether he's a 3.5-5 win player or a 6+ win player remains to be seen. I'm inclined to agree that he'll regress a little but the glass could be looked at as half full, too.
  13. Yeah, this is a really good summary. Honestly, all the news that's worth reading/discussing can be found on here. Like for example last week I was scrolling through on twitter and saw that someone had posted the video of Kjerstad taking swings. I came here to post it but someone already had beat me to the punch by about 30 minutes. Also saw the quotes from Elias late last week about AR/G-Rod possibly starting the season in Baltimore on twitter. It was already posted here by @Frobbyand being discussed. The depth of the coverage on the minor leaguers can't really be beat, either. Even the stuff that Tony talks about on here, Injury News/Promotions/Demotions, etc...it's all here in one place and better. Sometimes I'll be scrolling through Twitter and see something there first, but usually I learn about stuff on here first. The media can't provide any insight that the OH can't, it's as simple as that @Philip. I know you're kinda old school and want media to be hard hitting like they were back in the day but IMO those days are pretty much gone. Unless you're in NYC where they get a pass for being dicks. The one thing I also think you're forgetting is that if you're covering the team, you have to be around these guys pretty often, if not daily. So they're aware of what's being written/said about them...and if you want to be able to interview them, you probably should be treating them kindly, as best as you can. The last thing...like, what do you want anyone to say? It doesn't do anyone good in the press to drag someone through the mud when they're not performing well. Elias/Hyde are going to be diplomatic and professional about players no matter how bad they are. It's professionalism.
  14. I'm holding my breath...seems to good to be true that this change is for real and sustainable. Even though what Tony's presented over the course of the season points to that...I dunno, it just seems too good to be true. Even if he does end up being a one year wonder...well, what a year it was.
  15. LOL SG's never been wrong, just ask him CoC thinks he's never been wrong, either.
  16. I just turned 40. I remember some Miller Lite commercials but not that one.
  17. Whoa, what an amazing commercial! I've seen a bunch of Miller Lite commercials over the years but not that one. What a treat that was. Would take all afternoon to slow it down and figure out all the names in there. Boog, Frank, Uecker, Dangerfield, John Madden, Dick Williams, Dick Butkus, Billy Martin... Can you imagine being on the set for filming that day?
  18. Clearly you didn't read the last line. This whole "model" conversation is stupid.
