  1. Man, I wonder what this franchise would have done in the 90s with those 3. Granted, they might not have all developed here as they did elsewhere. But I think the 90s look way different for this franchise if we don't make the Glenn Davis trade.
  2. Who's a left-handed power starter?
  3. I'd trade for him, even though I think he's a pretty-boy punk bitch whiner. Would easily become the most talented pitcher we have outside of G-Rod.
  4. He won't win rookie of the year since he lags in the WAR race.
  5. I'd be wary of squaredancing with Billy Beane. Solid lock that Chapman would probably crater for us while whatever prospects we gave up would go on to play key roles for the A's moving forward, maybe even turn into superstars. If you want to figure out what pieces we have that are valuable, have Beane come in and take a look and see what he asks for. Probably a good idea to hold onto those guys. Tongue in cheek aside, it would depend on what we'd have to give up. Chapman's defense is still really good, even if we're debating if his bat has slipped or not. I wouldn't be totally opposed, especially if there's a chance we could extend him. At 10-12 million a year, it wouldn't be too cost prohibitive for anything else the franchise might want to do.
  6. So he's been on the IL every full season that's been played since 2018. He's not on an Austin Hays level, but he's missed time. We can agree to disagree if he gets hurt a lot. You don't seem to think so, I think he gets hurt more than average. But that's a pretty weird thing to nitpick considering the rest of the holes in his game. I realize I said in my previous post that I'd prefer to keep him but I also wouldn't be upset if he wasn't brought back. The only thing he brings to the table is OBP skills in a lineup that sorely needs that skill. The rest of his game is so suspect that that I'm not sure if that OBP skill is worth keeping him around.
  7. I agree. Mets fans minds are blown that the players might want to dish it back to them. Media members pearl clutching, including Buster Olney.
  8. People are losing their minds on this whole "thumbs down" thing.
  9. If it's soreness in the arm, I'm done. Talented guy, but he needs to be able to show up. He can never stay healthy.
  10. Look at you, double dunking. Takes real talent to do that.
  11. It just made me think of the character from Goodfellas. Get the papers, get the papers. CoC's comment was tongue in cheek, I believe. He's never liked Tate and never misses an opportunity to dunk on him. Won't ever comment on him when he's going good. I -on the other hand- like Tate. He's got a power arm out of the pen and has flashed before. I think he could be a piece moving forward. And we know Elias is probably going to give him every chance to succeed as he was a high draft pick.
  12. No reason to stress. No expectations. If this team ever plays a meaningful game again in the future, this board (me included, I'm not above it) won't know how to handle it. I can remember back to our playoff teams in the 2010s. I remember those games, but I don't remember how I was dealing with the stress at the time.
  13. So good you had to say it twice, Jimmy Two Times!
  14. I agree. It's a shame, you can see the flashes every so often to give you something to dream on. I think next year is make or break for him. There's going to be some talent in the minors pushing soon.
  15. Safe bet, if that continues. You don't think there could be some volatility from year to year, especially with a guy who's still on the upside of his career?
