  1. Figures that he's starting to feast right before he plays his old team....
  2. I was heartbroken when they traded Tettleton. And I know that opened up room for Hoiles (I also keep forgetting that Hoiles came over in the Jeff Robinson trade...Hoiles came over in the Fred Lynn trade) and Hoiles was a great player but...Fruit Loops. The way he held the bat. I think if you grew up an Orioles fan and were a certain age you imitated Mickey Tettleton's stance. And if you really caught a hold of one, you were convinced that Mickey Tettleton's stance provided you with more power somehow.
  3. In terms of the whole season? The loss streak we're currently on? Both? I think next year will be bad, too. I'm not sure if it''ll be THIS bad, but I don't see how it's going to get significantly better. I don't think we're going to break our own record of homers allowed next year but we'll approach it. That said, a lot can happen between now and then. As far as this current losing streak goes, I think at least three more games.
  4. This has always seemed to be a topic around here. And the answer is you won't know what bottom is until they're way on the way back up and you've got some perspective.
  5. I think he was trying...trying to be funny and clever. I think if you've been posting here for any amount of time, you probably have posts you'd look back on and cringe at. Except if you're @Frobby. Everyone's said some stuff they regret and probably looks bad in hindsight.
  6. That guy Cy Bundy was an odd bird. I remember last year we got into a little bit over....Bundy. He actually brought up some really good points. Lately he's just been odd.
  7. I'm with you 100% on that. Talking about being exposed, Mullins got exposed super quick. If he makes it back to Baltimore I think we all won't be expecting much. And Hays is a walking IL trip. I know I said the other day he's the Hunter Harvey of position players and that might not be entirely fair as Hays hasn't had anything as severe as Harvey has...but still, the dude just can't seem to go a long way without something to set him back. But yes, it's very annoying that there's no real CF to trot out there. Broxton is another placeholder who seems to have all the athletic gifts you could ask for but is a K-machine and isn't the best in CF (even though he glides).
  8. This is pretty dumb because he's put up some decent numbers. But I'll say that I believe DJ Stewart is going to get more opportunities because of his draft status than a guy putting up the same numbers who was drafted later. Fight me, @Can_of_corn
  9. Yeah, I like him as a utility guy for sure. People griped about his defense in CF but I think for a guy who got thrown to the wolves he did an adequate job without having hardly any experience in the OF to begin with.
  10. Hopefully in 3 or 4 years we're at a point where we can bump this thread and laugh at ourselves for arguing the merits of Yefry Ramirez vs. Dan Straily and who should have stayed on a 45 win team.
  11. Yeah, I'm not saying he's Ozzie Smith or even Izturis. Again, I don't think there's anyone head and shoulders above him that should be getting playing time that could do WAY better. Like Stevie Wilkerson might be better with the bat, not by a huge amount...but with the glove? Dunno.
  12. I don't disagree seeing as it probably doesn't happen over the weekend and then they're home next week before 7/1. But I don't understand why wait until the team is home...if that's what they are waiting for, that seems silly. Get him signed and then do the dog and pony show in Baltimore when the team comes back home. Bring him and Gunnar out to tip their caps to the 15k faithful.
  13. If we had a SS prospect in the minors that could be considered a part of the future, I'd be singing a different tune. But I'm fine to keep trotting Richie out there.
  14. I wish I felt that way. But I don't.
  15. Even though he's terrible with the bat, I think he's decent with the glove. He's not the worst thing about this season. I don't think the other options are much better and I'd rather have Villar at 2nd. And who knows, Villar might be traded here soon anyway. By no means do I think Richie is a long term option but for the rest of this season and as a backup for next season? Sure.
  16. We'll figure out something to complain about here soon.
  17. No one is Otter. Totally forgot Kevin Mitchell played for the Mariners. This had to be 1992 before they switched uniforms.
  18. He probably will. Someone will forever think they're the team that can tap the potential.
  19. Most likely. I was kinda hoping he'd have a good year but he just seems overall terrible.
  20. I mean, I don't think he's good but you seem to act like he peed in your Corn Flakes or something.
  21. I don't like Sisco but I'll wait and give him enough time to prove me correct before I start bashing him.
  22. The offense will just probably suck as much.
  23. Givens? Nah, doesn't throw enough innings and people still like him a little too much cause they want to think he can be good again and get some trade value. I've noticed a lot of annoyance towards Broxton lately. Maybe him. Trumbo isn't back so he's safe. Richie Martin? I don't think he's got any true haters here as we all expected him to be all glove, no bat. I dunno, no one sucks as bad as Straily and Davis. I feel like there's someone obvious that we're missing here. And on a team that's bound to win 45 games there should be some easier targets but I can't think of anyone as blatantly bad as those two.
