  1. I'm glad the Yankees are being rejuvenated. They might play hard against some of our competition down the stretch.
  2. It's almost like they've been putting him in the best situations to succeed, hence him having 288 PA. I'd wager quite a bit if he had 550 plus PA he would not look nearly as impressive.
  3. He just turned 30 but I get this is his age 29 season. He's been worth 1.1 bWAR, how the hell do you bench a stud like that against LHP?
  4. Yeah, I doubt we'd not win another game this season and miss the playoffs, I wouldn't be shocked if we can't get some separation with TBR that we don't win the division. They are in the midst of an 18-game in a row stretch iirc. Plenty of top pitching and desperate teams ahead of them.
  5. We get 7 more with Boston. They have pitching issues but they can score a lot of runs. I doubt they can knock us out of the playoffs in the final 4 game series with them to end the year like we did to them 2011, but they'll be dangerous if TB is still only a game or two back and possibly push us out of the division lead if Toronto hasn't completely folded.
  6. Jorge López embraces mental break (mlb.com) For anyone wondering what the issue was related to.
  7. Watch: Saints walk off on rare 'Robot Umpire' challenge vs. Iowa - Sports Illustrated Minnesota Sports, News, Analysis, and More Players can challenge the Ump and ask the robot lol.
  8. Probably AAA so they can teach him how to play defense.
  9. I'd attempt to reason with you, but I have an idea how that would end. Are you suggesting veteran pitchers don't occasionally throw wild pitches? I also didn't say it was a good outing, I said it wasn't nearly as bad as looking at the box score and going wow he was awful. He wasn't awful, he had 6 hard-hit balls all night and some really bad luck/bad umpiring in the 5th.
  10. The 5th inning was filled with terrible luck and terrible umpire calls. Flaherty wasn't that bad today, definitely not as bad as his line looked.
  11. Dodgers are a bad team man.
  12. Yeah, especially if they get him back to what he was with us last year and pitches lights out the rest of the season.
  13. Thanks, appreciate it. I would like people to know I'm certainly not looking for sympathy, life is great for now which is why it's hard for me to be upset about things like baseball! Just weird how my perspective went from sports are life and full of anxiety to, well, sports are a game, life is what gives you anxiety
  14. He's not eligible for the playoffs but he can certainly help us get there.
  15. Took having a child with a terminal illness for me to realize that sports are not life. I enjoy every game, I don't feel anxiety when the team loses or is down in games, which is probably why I am normally too non-emotional in the game threads. I enjoy each game because it's not life, it's a game.
  16. Sometimes coming "home" can make a big difference. I noticed some very long hugs in the dugout after his half-inning of work.
  17. His mental problems were him being unable to let go of bad performances and it was affecting his pitching. He was our closer last year, if the guys who got him to be that pitcher can get him back there he will be huge down the stretch.
  18. Where is he in relation to other MLB managers? I'm trying to find that stat but I can't. Or is that just your observation?
  19. I wouldn't be shocked if Lopez comes back out for the 9th.
  20. Both have been borderline abused. They need people other than them to get outs.
