If memory serves, it was 113+ and 439 ft.

Now leading the team in OPS.
-
Well, pour him a cold one after that performance.
-
I don't think anybody bashed him defensively. I think the general consensus was let's see it for ourselves, as there was some division among scouts. This is another little feather in the OH's cape but it was much higher on him defensively than the national people, and the OH was right.

When do you trade them. That's the question. I don't agree that you trade them ASAP or all at once. They need to figure out how they're going to incorporate the MiL guys, and how they're going to open spots on the roster for them. They'll do that by trading younger vets when it makes sense and the deals are there.

And back on the wheel again.

One hundino a couple of times in the sixth inning was impressive.

Amazing stat they showed in Saturday's broadcast. But apparently the O's have the best record in the league when the opposition scores first and the best record in the league when they score first. That's startling.

No matter where he bats Mullins will be a problem for the other team.
-
This is true, but his walk rate this year is a bit atypical for his career. I really don't care either way. You're probably right.
-
Well, sure. He's obviously done an amazing job. One would imagine he'll win MOTY. But he's been managing the same all year as he did today. I'm just wondering what specifically today was so commendable? For the record, I didn't like him removing Vespi.

I actually think they might like hitting him lower. He's not an OBP machine like Gunnar or Rutschman, but he is very good with runners on base. Hitting him 5th might make a lot of sense.

For what specifically?

Why isn't Ortiz in Baltimore instead of Mateo?
Pickles replied to Greg Pappas's topic in Orioles Talk
This is a statement not based in reality. Agree with you about everything else. -
I'd wish more that Giv can lose what he seems to have gained.
-
Ah, the good ol' OH.
-
Cedric Mullins was determined to win that game.
-
Henderson can't do that.

Yes, that's the eternal question. Where's the value? There's a couple things here to factor. First, you have 4 guys you feel good about long-term for 3 positions. That's the minimum ratio I want- granted, there's very minimal bust potential in this group. But we all know injuries, slumps, etc. justifies such a ratio, especially with the safety valve of DH, and the fact these guys can all slide down the defensive scale to get playing time. Second, they're a lot more valuable in trade if they've shown some major league success. So I expect the Orioles will slow play it. Certainly as long as they're winning 97 games and the division. If next year (because they're not bringing up Holliday here to be some savior this year) they start slow or there are injuries they might speed up the timeline. I expect next season to begin with an infield of Westburg, Ortiz, Henderson, Urias with Henderson playing every day and the other guys basically time sharing. I personally wouldn't even be shocked to see Mateo here as a 26th man. They'll want a second LHB in that mix, but they won't bother with a FA this year- like Frazier- but they'll just wait for Holliday come up mid-season, in no danger of winning the ROY. They'll be looking to trade either Norby or Urias, one a vet and the other a prospect, and see if either package is worth it. This same process is going on in the outfield with Hays, Santander, Mullins, Cowser, Kjerstad, etc. So they'll be trying to make the same decisions there. They will be conservative and slow.

2b- Holliday SS- Ortiz 3b- Henderson UTI- Westburg I could see that happening.
