    Defensively I don’t think the height is that big of a deal. But what 1b has been under 6 feet and been a middle of the order bat? Not saying he can’t do it, I’m just coming up blank on guys who have.

    I have not written off Sisco and I think they should take Rutschman if they think he is the best player. The two really aren’t connected.

    Reason #2 is why the Nats won’t go for him. But more to your OP - I have no idea if it’s time to move on from Buck. The fact that we are still trotting our Caleb Jospeh on a regular basis makes me think no.

    Gausman was our second best chip - we turned that into our 4th best return.

    The deals aren’t mutually exclusive in my mind. Any VMM deal is separate from the return on Gausman - unless they spend the entire allotment on him.

    Could have done VMM without the extra slot money. We already had the ability to offer the most. Should have ate the Oday contract and gotten one of those elite pitching prospects back.

    Davis has a much worse WAR though. And is being 140 million more dollars over the life of his deal. Calhoun seems like a bargain at this point.

    If Chris Davis stays healthy and in the lineup - he has a real shot at having the lowest WAR in a single season...ever.

    Random thought: The teams with similar records as the Os were built with tanking in mind. Unintentional tanking for the win.
