  1. He’d be perfect if he was a defensive wizard but he doesn’t really have a true position and not enough power to overcome his defensive shortcomings. Ideal trade piece for a club in need of OBP.
  2. I’d say they have a solid shot at it.
  3. Nice to see. I have high hopes for him.
  4. I have a feeling we will be seeing Prieto carve out a nice little productive career for another team. The man just hits. Hitting for some power recently as well.
  5. To the eye is seems Cano is not getting elite movement as he was earlier in the season. Lots of hard contact.
  6. A little less movement pre swing in his lower half but Cowser reminds me of Raffy a little bit.
  7. The guy no one ever talks about. But he just keeps quietly moving up the ladder and putting up decent numbers. He had a big night tonight 3/4 2HR. OPS up to .827 (in a very offensive heavy league). Too many strikeouts to get too excited about but nice to see 23rd round pick have some success.

4/4 tonight with 2 HR with the Iron Birds
  9. 4/4 with a double tonight and should get 1 more AB. He’s heating back up. Finished 5/5 1BB, 2B…..his second 5 hit game. He’s also had a 4 hit game and three 3 hit games.
  10. I saw that happen to a teammate of mine once. Severely broke his nose. Was not the same after. 80+mph to the face can do a lot of damage.
  11. I’m surprised it’s not done more often. Lets them learn how to get MLB batters out, allows them a little room for error (can hand pick situations), and you can keep their innings down. To me it only makes sense.
  12. 7/4 Grayson Rodriguez 12 k 6 ip 91 pitches.
  13. Grayson is dealing tonight. Making all the pitches. 8ks 0bbs through 4. Edit: 10 ks through 5 on 73 pitches. 2 H 0 BB Edit: 12K through 6 on 91 pitches. Imagine he’s done now. Absolutely fabulous performance.
  14. 1. Holiday 2. Mayo 3. Basallo 4. Cowser 5. Kjerstad 6. Westburg 7. Ortiz 8. Fabian 9. Willems 10. Povich _____________ 11. McDermott 12. Norby
  15. Just like everything there is risk/reward. Should he take the opportunity, hell yea. Is it a once in a lifetime chance to further his brand and have an unreal moment with his pops, hell yea. But with that said, it comes with a risk. Injuries are most likely to occur in two scenarios 1: when an athletes muscles are worn down and can no longer protect ligaments/tendons at 100% 2: when an athlete is exerting max effort over a sustained amount of time. My point is, as a fan of how the Os do in the second half, I’d selfishly like for him to avoid an event where he will be both exhausted & exerting max effort over a sustained amount of time. As a fan of Adley, baseball, and a guy that simply wants to be entertained, Im all about it. But again, everything in life comes with a risk. Is the risk too big in this case, absolutely not - but there is the underlying risk nonetheless. In general I don’t consider myself risk averse. But with young athletes/assets I tend to be a bit more cautious. A friend of mine’s HS son was slated to be drafted this year round 4-5ish but will not because of a broken hamate bone in his hand suffered at a PG HR derby contest. I posted the LA times article that mentioned a couple injuries, Judge shoulder being the most significant. I’ve seen this happen time and time again with kids at amateur level going to hard for too long and coming away with a season ending injury. But again, that’s me being a worry wart and I’m happy he gets this opportunity. I’m excited to watch him.
