I didn’t say that. I said that is a very important data point that goes into all their decisions. It’s also something that isn’t static and that the guys in the minors are continuing to work and train on.
Also explains how a guy who goes I drafted and unrecruited can go on to have a fantastic career.
Strength is avg. accuracy is what needs more consistency. IMO it’s mostly due to his footwork, which can be very challenging when play different positions (different attack/ throwing angles for each IF position).
Agree - you discount the human element. You are also overvaluing things they couldn’t care less about. It seems they knocked it out of the park with the team they assembled. Time will tell.
that would make my day and I’d get tix to go see him play. I love the Tides but am getting tired of seeing Jordan in Green. Give the man his chance! That said - like Gunnar, Adley, and eventually Cowser I think when they bring him up he will be here to stay and they won’t do the shuffle thing. But what do I know
I think the league and the Orioles are finally getting away from a # of pitches or a # of innings. I’m fairly confident they are looking at their workload over the last 2 months, the last 2 weeks, the last few days, and how the P looks in his outing. It’s counter-intuitive but a long break of a week or 2 weeks off is actually worse than continuing with your regular training. What we don’t see and know is how they are feeling when they aren’t pitching & what that workload looks like and how that plays in to their availability on game day. They may have a super hard recovery week & not be prepped for a long outing and we have no idea.
Omg the central is bad. Has a last place team in one division ever finished with a better record than the best team in one of the other two divisions? Currently that’s the case - wild
I think Twins will win the division by a wide margin.
Prieto looks like a fantastic trade chip. Solid high floor guy to go along with someone with more upside.
4/5 today with a HR & 3B batting .398 OpS .996
Encarnacion 109.5 HR was smoked. Stinks they didn’t get the distance. Still looks like these #s are a work in progress. I think they confused some of his change ups. He through a fin but didn’t seem like that many. Do they determine pitch by shape or ball spin?
Yes, that’s true. I’m assuming no significant injuries. I think for a week or two here and there Irvin, Rom, Zimmerman can pick up some of the work load. But a season ending injury to any of the SP would be significant.
I think they are fine to go through the season and make a WC. I think they need to upgrade for the playoffs. The staff overall will be much improved in second half when we have Tate, Givens, Hall, +trade in the mix. I think we are in a good spot but need to continue to improve.
