We all said we’re not getting anything out of him this year before the season started. As for Means and Wells, the only thing we lost that I had counted on was a solid bullpen arm. It’s a good team all around. If you can shore up the back end of the bullpen without giving up anyone that is expected to contribute to the MLB team in the next year, do it. Otherwise, don’t double down because you already paid Burnes.

I think it’s a little more important than any other mid June series. Any series against a team you’re close to in the standings is important, but there’s a lot of games to play.

Mullins was a league average hitter last season.

Irvin, Kremer, and maybe Povich are all capable of Game 3. You’re overstating what is necessary for postseason success. It doesn’t have to be a fool proof team. This offense is capable of carrying a league average #3 SP.

I agree to a certain extent. I think Houston’s success is part good fortune and part mindset. They had success and let it snowball to the point where they believe more than most. I think we already have the elite talent necessary to win a WS. It’s just a matter of getting them the needed experience.

My view of it is the playoffs are such a crapshoot, I’d rather have as many good shots at it as possible. Also I really enjoy the summers of elite baseball we’ve seen the last two years. Just keep this going.

Agreed on upgrading the bullpen. I think Kimbrel, Cano, and Coulombe are reliable playoff arms. I’d like to be able to add 2 more on their level and above guys like Webb and Perez. No interest in Robert though. Will cost more than we should pay and too much of an injury risk. White Sox are a team I’d avoid in general.
