  1. So in the past few days the FCL has sent 2 young starters to Delmarva. 20 year old righty Miguel Padilla has transitioned from reliever in the DSL in 2019 to a starter for the Shorebirds. I don't know his bonus but I know everybody who got $100,000+ in July 2019. He got less than that, so a 5 figure bonus And 18 year old leftyDeivy Cruz has always been a starter. Last year in the DSL, to the FCL in June and now a starter for the Shorebirds. He got a nice signing bonus for a shorter, 5'11" skinny pitcher. About $200,000 so there were expectations.
  2. 18 year old Lefty pitcher Deivy Cruz has gone from the DSL in '21, to a cup of coffee in the FCL in June, to Delmarva. I think his bonus in Jan 21 was on or about $200, 000. He is only 5'11" but he seems to be a strikeout pitcher.
  3. This Florida team doesn't just lose. They lose big. This is the worst minor league team of the Elias era.
  4. I first noticed Bencosme last year in the DSL. He was not in the January 15 signees so he was probably a small bonus. He totally outperformed the 6 figure and 7 figure bonuses shortstops signed on January 15, 2021. He produces very interesting statistics. He controls the strike zone. Draws walks and limits strikeouts. First and foremost to me, he is an extreme fly ball hitter despite being weighing on or about 170 lbs. This year his balls in play are about 2/3 flyballs. If he adds some good weight I expect more extra base hits. So i'm not surprised how well he did in the FCL and now Delmarva.
  5. Minnesota needs a right handed power bat. They're looking at Nelson Cruz. Would you rather trade Mancini for some Dominican lottery tickets or hang on to him and hope for a compensation ticket ? It's a foregone conclusion they won't resign him.
  6. Orioles shut out by Red Sox 11-0. I guess they were working on new pitches and batting stances again Actually I know their roster. They aren't without talent. At least they graduated Bencosme, their best middle infielder
  7. Frobby i enjoy your weekly updates. Have you got the time to update the 3 short season teams ?
  8. Hapless Florida Orioles one hit 8-0 by Braves. Elias has had 3 drafts and 3 international signing classes. This team should be more competitive. This braves team is mostly composed of non prospects themselves.
  9. Bencosme and Acevedo have been promoted and staring for Delmarva tonight.
  10. Ramos got $200,000. Only the 8th highest bonus. I stopped taking Baseball America so I missed their reports. Tony OH reported he was a good athlete with some power.
  11. Feliciano is "repeating" in the DSL today. Lots of 2021 dsl names on today's DSL rosters. Feliciano is the biggest bonus baby on his 2nd go round. $400,000.
  12. Thanx Tony. I wish the Braves had a fan board like this.
  13. I don't see Robert Neustrom on the Norfolk roster. June 4 8pm. Is he injured ? Did he get called up ?
  14. Elias started very hot in 2019. His 1st 3 picks were Rutschman, Henderson and Stowers. After that there's been a lot of head scratching.
  15. Orioles Black and Orioles Orange begin in the DSL Monday. 2 teams like the past few years.
  16. Only 1 Orioles team this year. Astros the only organization with 2 teams
  17. Last week Bellony hit for the cycle. He looks like the best of Duquettes signees.
  18. Orioles Black and Orioles Orange both play.on openingl day.
  19. I believe the Red Sox gave Romero $250,000 signing bonus.
  20. Refresh my memory. Didn't orioles get him in minor league portion of the last Rule 5 draft ? I think from San Diego. Pinto had a strong start in front of him. Glad he's turned it around.
  21. Pinto battling back since rough 1st start. 8 KS in 4 innings. Feliz battling back since his promotion to High A last summer brought him crashing down to earth. 10 KS in 4 innings. Time to give Feliz another look. He was Hot for Delmarva 1st half of last year.
  22. Both Chace and Rangel along with Luis Ortiz signed in July 2019. Chance and Rangel got somewhere between $150,000 and $200,000 Ortiz got the biggest bonus, $400,000 but he struggled last year in Florida. I assume he'll be back in Florida. All 3 were high profile signees at the time. Orioles haven't had a high profile pitcher signee since that class. They choose to spend on hitters. Same way they run their draft. Orioles h
  23. His ranking reflects the size of his bonus, $ 600,000. I guess. Once he puts on some good weight and starts hitting for power, we will look at him again. I would hope he makes it to Florida this summer. Don't take this list seriously. They don't even list milionaire stud catcher Samuel Basallo from the 2021 class, who hit well with power in the DSL last year.
  24. Moises is back ar 3rd Tuesday. 1 for 2, a single. Issac Bellony 3 for 3, 2 singles and a Homer. In right field. As far as I know Ramirez and Bellony are the last 2 international signees Duquette made still in the organization. Both got about $ 200,000.
  25. I thought he was like 6'5" and threw near 100. With control issues. This is Juan de Los Santos I'm trying to remember.
