  1. That would be a logical projection for a consensus 1-1 position player.
  2. Did you see Bauer did a tomahawk chop when he left the game? Such an edgelord.
  3. Yea, no matter how the rest turn out, barring of course some kid's whose name I don't know turning into an all-star catcher, AR bombing will still be a big blow. Even if we end up with a playoff team, losing out on an MVP candidate at catcher is still going to hurt.
  4. The wording of the release. Sentence one: They won't bring back Flores. Sentence two: Brocail not returning. It is pretty clear by the first sentence that the Orioles decided not to bring back Flores, the second sentence is not so clear.
  5. I stand by the idea that it would be a huge hit if he turned out to be Tony Sanchez.
  6. I'm almost curious enough to see if the rotation was manipulated to line that up or if it was chance.
  7. I said takes a hit not fails entirely. The Blue Jays are doing OK with Vlad Jr as a 109 OPS+ DH since Bo Bichette has been a stud. Same can happen with the O's. But it's going to be harder.
  8. If he's a miss the entire rebuild takes a huge hit.
  9. Unfairly? As someone who is always against intentionally hitting someone I don't agree that anything was unfair about it.
  10. https://www.mlb.com/stats/team/hit-by-pitch/regular-season?expanded=true They were tied for 23rd in the league in HBP. I know big shock that folks were more talk than action right?
  11. Jennings is #1 on the list all time. I reckon getting hit didn't hurt near as much back then.
  12. In his defense Sisco gets hit better than the typical catcher (6 HBP in 121 PA). Actually collecting HBP is one of Sisco's tools, he's averaging 26 per 162 games, for reference Biggio (#2 all time) only averaged 16.
  13. Economic factors? Was Brocail making too much?
  14. Sure, I'll agree that it isn't as cut and dried as I said. What I meant was that if you goal is to be competitive you don't balk at paying 3M for a Hanser Alberto and instead pay league minimum for a guy you hope is as productive. If the goal is to keep payroll as low as possible and secure another top pick you let him go.
  15. It depends on if being competitive is a goal for next season. If the plan is to secure another high draft pick then it doesn't matter.
  16. Glad you liked it. I've posted his stuff here a number of times before. He had a long career in England but he never crossed over to success in the US.

    Shane Bieber

Fair to say you're a Bieber believer?
  18. Gotcha. I disagree that the Union would need to be involved. This to me sounds like something that is an owners only issue. I could see them adding it to a CBA since it would be a convenient time to add it but that doesn't mean it would be subject to the collect bargaining process.
  19. Serious question, why? It has nothing to do with the Player's union. That is the sort of change that MLB should be able to unilaterally make.
  20. I don't see why draft picks being tradeable would be something that would be relevant to the labor negotiation. What does that have to do with the Player's union?
  21. I forget who it was, maybe Donaldson but he was talking about the traditional advice behind a level swing. About how you should be trying to hit the ball up the middle. The hitter in question was why would I want a swing that is designed to hit a single up the middle?
  22. When I was there you had a lot of military folks that were just baseball fans or looking for a night out going to games. For instance I'd go and at the time it was a Mets affiliate.
