  1. Shocking they lasted that long.
  2. I think the players will make some gains and that is likely in one of the areas.
  3. The broader picture of things is that you have AR in the minors so in all probability you have a starting catcher for your 2021 squad already. There is no great need to try and pick up a possible marginal upgrade over Sisco in what is likely to be an uncompetitive season. He's young, he's got some upside, an option to burn and he's cheap. If he were to be released he'd be the type of guy we'd be looking to pick up.
  4. If they can find room on the 40 for Trumbo I don't see why they couldn't for Mountcastle. What makes most sense to me is that they are planning on manipulating his service time. I'm at the point that I'm rooting for the players to close that loophole in the next CBA.
  5. Don't seem to be. I suggested that maybe he was getting sent to help one of the other affiliates in the playoffs and Frobby eyerolled me.
  6. What did you say to me yesterday?
  7. Even if you are sure Sisco won't amount to anything, innings still need to be caught next season. He's on the 40 man, he's making the minimum. So even if you know he we will never get above replacement level, no reason not to keep him around for now.
  8. Right, and that's "easy". Pretty sure every team would be interested in a 1 win catcher for the league minimum.
  9. Wieters is putting up a .6 win season, maybe he'll come back for 550K?.
  10. You think it is going to be easy to find a guy for free, making the minimum, that is better than Sisco? I'll disagree.
  11. I'll take the issues with positioning over the issues with framing any day of the week. On a side note, his framing must be grading out OK for his fWAR and bWAR to be similar.
  12. Because it fits Wildcard's narrative.
  13. He's replacement level. No definition of trainwreck qualifies.
  14. I think he's making the minimum next year and hasn't been a trainwreck.
  15. Big difference between being disappointed and calling it a wasted pick.
  16. And I still believe in option C, in which he hits enough to make up for the defense.
  17. Pat Connaughton was a terrible pick for the Nets. He's only averaging 4.6 PPG.
  18. I'm literally shaking my head. Kid makes it to the majors at 22 and some guy is calling him a wasted draft pick. Bubba Starling went fifth, in a loaded draft, made his debut at 26 and has -.6rWAR.
  19. Second round picks should be perennial all-stars. Getting to the majors at 22 isn't impressive at all.
  20. I've said it before but I guess I'll have to repeat myself. If you think a second round pick that makes it to the majors was a waste of a pick you don't understand the MLB draft. You want to see what a wasted draft pick looks like? https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=hart--001jos
  21. My issue is folks dumping on Sisco while letting other players, who are doing even worse, slide. Now that Stewart has started hitting a bit folks are going back to their default punching bag. No need for a reactionary rant about Sisco. No new ground was being covered.
  22. I am the one that doubted that Sisco had the bat for third right? Pretty sure that was me.
