  1. Might see something in the next CBA. Fights between rich and super rich owners are fun.
  2. According to the Athletic it's 46M a year, which is not how I read the tweet.
  3. I don't agree that "plenty" will agree. Not to anything close to a 97% deferment.
  4. We know Ohtani is not really concerned with money and this basically removes the cap hit from the deal.
  5. That's been debunked. I mean it might be true but it's officially been debunked.
  6. Hilarious. That's going to be addressed in the next CBA. I'm curious how far out the payments are going to be.
  7. I think they can offer more money than the Dodgers will be willing to spend. Of course we don't know yet what the cap hit of the Ohtani contact will be.
  8. Anyone else think the Giants are going to step up in a major way to sign Yamamoto? They've been missing out on the big names the last couple of years and I think they are ready to pay a premium to get one.
  9. It's going to change the math. Fair or not it will. Guys spinning their wheels aren't going to raise their trade value by repeating a level and getting older.
  10. I disagree. I'd much rather have a 22 year old prospect, maybe from another team than a 27 year old. Stowers played at 25 this season. If he wastes a year in the minors he's going to be 27, I don't care what year he puts up in Norfolk that makes him less attractive.
  11. Kevin Gausman defends the city he plays for. Internet tough guys:
  12. Prospect age is incredibly important. Would you rather have a guy from age 21-26, 23-28, or 26-31? If Gunnar did at 25 what he did at 22 he wouldn't be viewed nearly the same.
  13. Once they run out of options other teams get a chance at them.
  14. Rival agents are estimating the deal's present day value between 400-500 million.
  15. How much more would the Angels have to offer for you to pick them over the Dodgers?
  16. The secret back in the day was the music forums. The more rep you had the more you could bestow and three heavyweights used to hang out there and be generous with the rep.
  17. I wouldn't say it that way either. But if those examples were "overpaid" he should count as "underpaid". The market is the market. To me the only time someone is "overpaid" is something like the first Arod free agent deal where the team went hugely over what any other team would pay. Another example would be the Chris Davis deal.
