Mostly it's the counting stat thing. If you want to mention him being first in OBP, then it wouldn't have made a difference to me. You throw in total number of doubles, well to me it makes a difference if he's got 100 more at bats. To me that fact that he's getting additional opportunities is worth noting. Also keep in mind that if you ware talking about counting stats, which you are, if he has 100 more Plate Appearances I think that is something worth noting.

If you are comparing catchers I think you should just be looking at what they do at catcher.

The Rays broadcast is really good. The pitcher they are facing has a very low walk rate and a high first strike percentage. Should the Oriole hitters just start every at bat 0-1?

Would you rather owe someone 10 bucks now and 20 bucks a year from now or the reverse? Future money is worth less than present money. Not only does inflation factor in but you lose whatever opportunity you might have to grow that money.
