  1. Got it, don't be the league scapegoat.
  2. Sure, they are a feel good story. They make the playoffs for a few years in a row and the number will drop. I also notice a lot of the top teams have exciting, young players on them. I don't think that's a coincidence.
  3. I think the plan was to collect as many #1 picks as he could from at least 2019-2021 ( I think 2022 was supposed to be closer to 90 losses). Yes they ended up with the #2 pick one year and the covid year messed them up and they ended up with the fifth pick that year. They sure didn't win more games in 2019 by dint of roster construction. You can't look at the team they sent out there in 2019 and say with a straight face that the goal wasn't to get another #1 pick, they didn't see the Tigers coming in and losing 114. As for not getting 100 loses in 2020? Kinda hard to lose 100 in a 60 game season. The way that team was trending I do think they would have lost 100 over 162.
  4. I have no idea if that is true. I'm impressed if you actually checked the bench bats of the other 29 teams.
  5. I don't think most of the folks interviewing were advocating a bottom 2 payroll for the next five years, or a plan built around losing 100+ games for 4-5 years in a row.
  6. That's almost as bad as being best summarized as Randy Quaid.
  7. Might be a piece about how the Maryland market suffers from an inferiority complex.
  8. Some teams don't believe in full tear downs. It's been decades since the Cards have had to contemplate something like this.
  9. The idea is that the Cardinals are not going into full tank rebuild (that isn't the only way) and in fact might extend him two years and have him retire as a Card.
  10. If you don't sign an early pick you lose the slot money. The O's went into overage last season and I think part of the reason why was because they didn't sign McLean last year.
  11. Because if you pick a guy early and don't sign him you lose the associated slot money.
  12. Was the main reason he lucked into Elias the fact that Elias was advocating a massive cut cutting teardown?
  13. They were not in any sort of a rush to move him is my point. I don't think they think there is much of a learning curve.
  14. They sure didn't give Mountcastle a ton of reps at first before moving him there (84 games out of 127 in 2019).
  15. Unless Hall's velocity is back up I don't think he has good value. His profile throwing 93 is no where near as enticing.
  16. Once again, and? Also that would be why I added Correa to your initial post, because at least comparing those two would make some sort of sense and not be as random as picking Turner. I will say that Correa at second would be an upgrade over Frazier.
  17. Almost like he's compensating for a lack of accomplishments.
  18. Yes, but a lot of folks don't pay that much attention to you. It wouldn't hurt for you to add the f for the sake of clarity.
  19. I think it's probably really hard to juggle the schedule so that every team can get that. Seems like a pretty mammoth undertaking. I'm just glad that it isn't 19 games each anymore.
  20. While he certainly should have specified it's also obvious that he is talking about fWAR.
  21. I don't think signing every one of these picks is a realistic goal. The money just isn't there in the middle of the round like it is at the top.
