  1. You can't fire that one.
  2. Remember, any time either of them were slumping last season it was due to nagging injuries. Not sure why that is the case for those two and not say Mountcastle but I don't make the rules.

Someday? Maybe in like 15 years. They didn't bother to make an offer for Ohtani.
  4. Would be a hard argument to win since it's only a one year deal. Something like the Machado extension has a lot more risk.
  5. While I don't think it is likely, they might sell the team and keep the RSN. (They should have sold high on the RSN years ago)
  6. I think this is what you are looking for. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/edwin-diaz-blake-treinen-and-the-greatest-reliever-seasons-ever/
  7. Frazier wasn't league average last year.
  8. I don't think it is about success, it's about delay.
  9. More like the battle of the Titians, am I right?
  10. I think that while the added experience is useful you have guys in the minors that could do a better job managing a game than some guys that are in the majors. Just because a guy is a ML vet doesn't means he is inherently superior in that regard.
  11. I have no idea if his game is going to translate to the majors. But if it will it won't be because he spent three more months in the minors.
  12. How many at bats has he caught with Judge in the batters box? You think he's got some special insight in how to get him out? I'm betting the team gets together with the catcher and pitchers and gameplans the approach. It's 2023 nobody is calling pitches based on what Judge did in a particular at bat in 2019.
  13. Or more. I wouldn't be surprised if the got to the 400 at bats with the Rockies. I'm sure the plan is to flip him at the deadline.
  14. I don't think he had a bunch of offers to navigate.
  15. I'm just worried they were telling the truth about him playing DH and first base.

The team's budget is larger then the GB team isn't it?

I love stuff like this. https://darkroom-clips.mlb.com/fefa2bab-320f-42b7-973b-f4376e58540d.mp4
  18. He can get to his best, and get acclimated to pitching in the majors at the same time. Instead they use up his innings, which will probably be limited, "getting him to his best" in AAA. Assuming of course that actually happens. Once he's "at his best" they can bring him up and he can deal with acclimating to the majors. Heck maybe they'll get 50 or so good innings out of him this year! If was an established guy no one would be suggesting this. He can do it in the majors.

I think folks are hoping for a quick bump when he shows up. Mostly they get the dumpster fire when he leaves.
  20. Means is an even better one. Got beat up in the majors and went into the offseason with a plan on how to improve.
  21. That was ceiling. Hays has a career batting average of 257, he's hit 300 once, in 2019 over 75 plate appearances. He has had an OPS over 800 once, in 2019. He's never hit 25 HR in a season. So yea, if he can do 2019 for a full season he can hit those milestones.
  22. The only logical reason to send him down is to game his service time. He'll have to make an adjustment to ML hitters at some point and if you waste some of his innings in the minors you are just delaying that process.
  23. 74 games over six seasons so not really.
