I think if you sign him for eight you are assuming he's going to miss a substantial amount of time with some issue or another. How many guys go from age 30-37 and don't have some sort of serious injury?

Look at it this way, you sign him for 8 years and he blows an UCL you still have him for say 6.5 years. You sign him for 4 years and you only get 2.5.

The O's should get a discount on him.
