  1. I'll do my best wildcard. I once "warmed up" in the bullpen in high school ball, but have never pitched. (I was an outfielder).
  2. Calling up Jones makes too much sense for the Orioles to do it. Of course, it has made too much sense for the last 2-3 weeks...
  3. Agreed. Love the 1.2 WAR so far. Hays and Mullins are easily my two favorite players to watch on the current team.
  4. Agreed. While Santander has been injured, he has been the biggest disappointment for me. Meanwhile, even though Hays has had his usual injury issues, he has been relatively solid, with an OPS of .741, OPS+ of 102, and 8 homers.
  5. This, except I am fine with Santander/Stewart/Diaz manning right field and DH, and McKenna staying as a solid fourth OF.
  6. Still figuring that out myself... but if we can somehow do it again today, I am all for it.
  7. Awesome man. Enjoy the game. Maybe you'll be in for a pleasant surprise.
  8. What a fun season! Good thing they are just doing the same exact thing night in and night out instead of changing it up!
  9. This thread title... the fact that the Orioles have had an 0-14 stretch and a separate 1-14 stretch.... this season has been beyond brutal.
  10. Exactly. Get him some MLB experience there, let him work with the major league coaches, and see what you've got. He's been hitting great for several weeks down in AAA, I believe his OPS is still above 1.000.
  11. Right. As long as they are healthy (and I really don't think 2 of those 3 are), you keep playing them every day to see what you've got. Of course, Jones should be up here now playing second over the embarrassment they have had there all season. And yes, I am aware that Jones isn't the greatest defensive second baseman, and Phillip will have a cow reading this post, but he should absolutely be up here.
  12. Same with Santander and Hays, and they're up here.
  13. No I know. Phillip thinks a player's offensive value/potential is worth zero if said player does not play good defense. Defense is obviously important, but the better a hitter is, the less important a defensive contribution is.
  14. .727 OPS, 0.9 WAR.... I think he'll get you more than a PTBNL or cash. I would think similar to what Iglesias got the O's over the offseason - a high teens/20s prospect and a lotto ticket.
  15. I agree. In another threat (or it might have been this one?) I posted that Santander should go on the IL until he is fully healthy, and Nevin or Diaz should come up. We really may as well give Diaz a chance to see what he can do a this point.
  16. Hard to argue with any of this. I don't know a ton about those prospects so I don't know if the trades are "good," but overall, this makes sense.
  17. Santander, who I am a big fan of, looks awful at the plate. Late on fastballs. Aside from his hard single yesterday, not a ton of hard contact. Hope he turns it around, but the meh minor league track record might suggest otherwise.
  18. At this point, Santander is clearly not healthy. They may as well promote Nevin to get regular at bats at DH/OF, while also promoting Jones and DFAing Wilkerson. None of that will injure the rebuild, and the team absolutely SUCKS right now - it's not like things can get worse at the ML level.
  19. Jones should be up here playing second base every day. It's not like he can't learn and improve at the position while with major league coaches.
