  1. Wish he would have been more awake last night...lol. He has done well overall since being back though.
  2. Pretty clear the Wojo we saw in that one hit game was more likely than not a dog tease
  3. This was plenty of payback for EdRod for me... he and Zach were the filthiest pitchers I have ever seen on the mound for us. Maybe THE filthiest
  4. Sometimes the moves not made turn out for the best. We shall see! But I know that these decisions are part of a definite plan and that is reassuring.
  5. Hopefully he will be at home spending his money.:
  6. Gausman lit up in last start, 6 runs, 9 hits, no command....Braves fan sites pulling their hair out about him only having two pitches...lol. -1.1 WAR with 5.97 ERA O’Day yet to throw a pitch, 9 million paid by Braves rather than us. Trade will turn out better than conventional wisdom, imho.
  7. I think a lot will be said in the years ahead about how MEs smartest hire turned out to be Koby Perez.

    Tyler Skaggs dead.

His Mom, Debbie, was the high school softball coach for 30 years in Santa Monica.
  9. I cannot agree more. And really, this was one of my most significant criticisms of Dan, and of Andy Macphail...i.e. they had very little, if any, skill for marketing a team that is rebuilding. Beginning with just the perfunctory, lack of communication styles for both of our previous GMs- call it old school or whatever, it was definitely old fashioned...Mike Elias is the absolute opposite of them from a communications and marketing philosophy standpoint.

    Tyler Skaggs dead.

A tremendously sad thing for a young person to go so soon. Peace and God’s love to his wife, family and friends!
  11. I don’t know about J2 shirts....I still have some Y2K shirts though!
  12. Trey entered Tuesday’s games leading the American League in total bases (154), tied for second in extra-base hits (36), third in slugging percentage (.566), tied for fourth in hits (84), fifth in batting average (.309) and sixth in runs (50). I see this, Rorschach speaking, as pretty good looking.
  13. That is one possibility. Or maybe Trey continues in the .900 and above OPS category and becomes a late bloomer type similar to another catcher we drafted who then was converted to an outfielder when he came to the majors...after four years with two teams he was felt sure to be a fourth outfielder type at age 27 with an .OPS of .725 in his first four seasons and an fWAR of 4 but he ended up pretty well with a career fWAR of 36. But Trey is a first baseman and thus needs to keep producing offensively even more than he has thus far because of his position and he is nowhere near the outfielder this guy was. I agree with no need to extend Mancini right now...I would keep him unless I get an overpay and see if an opportunity develops to deal him somewhere in the next couple of years.
  14. Your assumption is that the old man listened. I disagree that he did or that AJ had any impact at all. Peter Angelos did what Peter Angelos wanted to do. Yes, Adam expressed very publically that he wanted Davis, Markakis, O’Day signed, David Price pursued, etc etc. Buck said it in a more veiled and sophisticated way for PR purposes as he knew his role. Brady never really said squat publically because he was a behind the scenes guy who had no official spokesman role. Dan was Dan...Mr. Oblique, clearly not his call, but not somebody, after his Toronto dalliance, who was in any position to influence or advocate a different view with the old man. Peter Angelos knew that Adam Jones was his employee, and was just a player, and knew Buck and DD and Brady were his employees too. Period. The deal was done by Peter Angelos and nobody else.
  15. Adam had zip to do with it.
  16. That sound off the barrel. Amazing. 36 HR pace.
  17. Always liked Oliver, the Naval Academy guy...he is one persistent guy too...he pitched for 5 different ML teams last season...Brewers, Indians, Angels, Blue Jays, Twins and now this year for the Rays....He has had 7 appearances this year... usually 1-2 innings...only given up 1 run. Maybe he has figured something out at 32.
  18. Hmm.....we are now on a pace for 49 wins...2 better than last year. Attendance will reflect this. .
  19. These valuations don't sufficiently factor in the risk issues involved with the developmental risks of an 18 year old, a 19 year old and a 20 year old versus a proven major league performer, imho. In fact all three prospects could not even make the major leagues and that is not an unlikely outcome much less any of them reaching the level of achievement of even a 2 wins a year contribution. This is part of my problem with the current model of directly translating dollar value based on projections in the lowest age ranges of developmental prospects. Not only do I think it is inaccurate, it is worse than tea leaves, imho. I hope ME's analytics are more advanced.
  20. None of these I mentiioned are on any Top 100 lists that I can find and I would see them as second tier, developmental and thus higher risk prospects by any objective assessment. I would not be surprised at all if this happened...IF Trey doesn’t slump between now and then and IF the Indians are close to the Twins and become buyers. In fact, it may be a higher return, imho.
  21. And not very good either. We should just DFA him. lol
  22. Yes, Trey will return a pair of used tennis shoes. Without laces. I know.
  23. If Cleveland wants to get a bat and decides to buy if they stay in touch with the Twins over the next month and Trey heats up again, Mancini could play 1b or Dh back and forth with Santana or replace Luplow in right. He could easily return 3 prospects, like George Valera , Luis Oveido, Ethan Hankins 18yrs, 20 yrs, 19 years... imho. http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2019?list=cle
