  1. You mean my prediction of no major league deals was wrong?
  2. I like to the think that the majority of fans understand that Correa isn’t actually happening.
  3. Santander is always injured and can’t get on base. I have very low expectations from him personally. If the Marlins did the type of trade that I’ve seen SG bring up then I’d be ecstatic. There’s plenty of outfielders on the horizon and not much pitching. After GRod and the forever injured Hall it’s a steep drop off. I’d hold onto Means for that reason too. If you really wanna get crazy then you extend Mancini and trade Mountcastle for pitching also. There’s 15 new teams that would love a young and cheap DH and the Orioles need pitching badly.
  4. You may as well keep Mancini and Santander honestly. Santander will likely be non-tendered next year and I think everyone who’d be interested in him knows this. Whatever is offered in return for him would probably reflect this. Trading Mullins makes way too much sense. It’s a similar situation to Davis and Britton after they had insane years. They both eventually came back down to earth and nothing was received in return. Mullins is almost guaranteed to come up short of matching his year last year, but if there’s a team out there who thinks “well maybe this is who Mullins is” then you cash in and get a real nice pitching prospect or two. We’ll see a decent centerfielder come up between Hays, Stowers, or Cowser.
  5. I agree, that is obnoxious. I’m guessing I’ll get used to it though
  6. I kinda feel like Greinke would prefer to retire than come to the O’s. He’s a competitive guy and uhhh….Baltimore isn’t. The first 3 seem realistic though
  7. This is the Orioles we’re talking about. They signed some minor league deals. I’ve no doubt they’re still in full steam tank mode
  8. Just read that. Honestly, I wouldn’t be very surprised if there were absolutely no free agent signings. Some waiver claims seem likely, but is there really any player out there right now that I would’ve expected to see the O’s sign prior to the lockout? I don’t think so
  9. They’re gonna sign Correa, duh! Really though, I think maybe a catcher and a rule 5 and that’s about it.
  10. The Orioles don’t spend money like that plus Elias has been crystal clear that he’s still in tank mode.
  11. It makes too much sense to sign him. He’d still be in his prime years during the hopeful contention window, he fills a position of need which not only reduces the pressure on the farm to produce three quality infielders but could potentially aid in putting together trade packages for other areas of need, and lastly it’s a showing of good faith to the fans and players that there is a goal and perpetual tanking is not the long term plan anymore. With all that being said, (I’m reminding myself this mostly) there is zero chance he signs here.
  12. Coors factor isn’t as much of an unknown as you allude to…Story has a home OPS of .972 and away OPS of .752
  13. It would highlight why tanking is so prevalent in the game right now.
  14. What’s more surprising, Lyles getting a guaranteed $7 million or the Orioles being mentioned whatsoever with one of the top free agents? It’s been a strange off season for sure
  15. Nope, this is fun to think about but I think (or hope) that we all know it doesn’t have a chance of actually happening. A guy can dream though
  16. I think hoping that even 2 out of that list will eventually be worthy of every day play is optimistic. If I had to guess, one will have a good MLB career, one might be a decent utility player for a few years, and the rest will struggle to find any consistency at the MLB level. Signing someone like Correa isn’t just a signal to the organization that it’s time to show up and win but it also reduces the absolute need for every infield prospect in the top 10 to make it.
  17. I would be ecstatic to see a bold move like this. Next years FA SS class isn’t great and all the infielders coming up through the system could be delegated to 2B and 3B, creating more competition. Obviously 2022 would still be a bad year, but the guys would come into an environment where winning is the actual goal and I can’t think of any reason why that wouldn’t be a positive influence. I have absolutely no expectations this could actually happen btw. This is the exact approach I support though. Imagine Rutschman, Correa, and Mullins up the middle and hitting 1, 2, 3 with Mountcastle in cleanup. It’d be awesome. That doesn’t fix the pitching…but at least the offense and defense would be fun.
  18. I said over .850 so if it happens I can be the only one to pick it
  19. Mullins is one of my favorites and I hope he succeeds. But until I see him play like this for more than one season I don’t see why we should expect it to continue.
  20. Do teams really value an okay hitter on the last year of arbitration for DH? I don’t think Mancini gets much in return either way.
  21. I guess im in the minority here but that isn’t the right package for Mullins. Lopez would be really close to free agency by the time the Orioles are good again so he’s a wash where it matters. Though, Lopez could probably be flipped along with Means and it’d be a solid reset for 2025 or whenever the Orioles are trying to be competitive again.
  22. I’ll go with the least likeliest pick and say Richie Martin. After a couple months of doing well in AAA, he’ll eventually get called up and become the every day SS. I’ll say he’s been held back by injury and maybe some pressure to do well since he’s been on the cusp of losing his roster spot. Now that the pressure is off and he has some time being healthy to properly prepare then he’ll turn a corner and be who we had all hoped when he was taken in the rule 5. Great glove with a decent bat. Ask me again tomorrow and I’ll have a different answer though
  23. I don’t think it’s going to make or break Adleys career obviously but I don’t see why having a veteran presence wouldn’t be viewed as a positive thing.
  24. lol what I meant by that is 2022 is not a year to expect major league talent. Sure, Joseph is not a great player but I think he has a lot of potential as a mentor and considering that could be a valuable asset then I wouldn’t mind at all if he was signed despite him being pretty far below average overall.
  25. Not happening in 2022, this isn’t news
