The average ERA in the PCL is 5.75. The average WHIP is 1.625. To say it’s an extreme hitter’s league is an understatement.
Look, I’m not building up this guy to be Clayton Kershaw. But it wouldn’t be that shocking if he gave them a decent outing.
And we seem to have a tendency to make not-Kershaw pitchers look like Kershaw. I was thinking this specifically when Ty Blach did a Clayton imitation against us.

You must not be looking very hard.
Figgered as much. Thought it would be posted and discussed here. But what do I know.

Jax to AAA?
on mlbtraderumors.com, dont' see mention of it here. -

Kevin Brown mentioned today that Adley has been victimized by incorrect strike calls the second-most of any player in the league. It happened at least twice today.
That stat passes the eyeball test. And it's weird because, anecdotally, players with command of the strike zone seem to get borderline calls.

Jamaal Wilkes might have something to say about this.
Silk? And his 20-foot layup? He was basketball ballet!

Yeah, watched this game. He wasn't fooling anyone. Didn't see anything we'll miss. (As of now, in my opinion)

If Henderson gets a hit here, I believe it will be the first time he has gotten to .250 all year.
Oh so close. Showing .249 on MLB.tv

Show of hands, who had Gerrit Cole and Kyle Bradish with the same ERA on August 20th? I sure as hell didn't.

Signed up for Nord, and didn't work at first with default browser, had to fiddle with combos, and finally was able to get through using Denver, Safari (Mac), with a private window.

You're welcome, I hope it works as well for you as it does for me. They have excellent tech support if needed also via chat or phone. (No, I do not work there).
When I'm out in the Revel van, I use Starlink/RV, and it has a Denver IP, which is great. I'll set Nord to Denver and hopefully, BigBrotherMLB will think I've moved there!

Not all VPN's are the same, unfortunately. I traveled a lot, so I needed a VPN that would work with MLB.TV and Netflix. NordVPN is where I ended up and I haven't had any issues with blacked-out MLB games.
Have tried a few different VPN's, will try Nord today. Thx.

I’m sorry to hear you are having this issue as well. If only MASN would allow for paid streaming without needing a cable subscription, that would solve this problem, but unfortunately that doesn’t appear to be in the cards anytime soon.
Regardless, we as fans shouldn’t have to go to these great lengths to watch our teams play, and especially not when we’re paying good money for it and still have roadblocks preventing us from doing it. It’s a total money grab and should be outlawed.
I would absolutely pay to legally watch O's games. MLB.tv works fine except against those 6 teams, but damn it, we're in a pennant race and if I would have missed last night's epic inning, it would have made me grumpy. It's really not that difficult to find alternatives, but I would strongly prefer to pay and do it above board.

I live south of Las Vegas, and am blacked for all Padres, Angels, Dodgers, Giants, A's, and Diamondback games. I had been using Private Internet Access VPN and could usually find a combination of browser / private window / clear cookies / VPN location that would work when O's are playing those teams. As of about a week ago, no joy.
It's amazing the lengths MLB will go to, to keep fans from watching their games. -
Based on some of the Westburg defensive commentary here on the board, I was expecting him to be Vavra out there. I've been pleasantly surprised, he seems to move well at 2nd and 3rd, and I haven't noticed a weakish arm. Definitely prefer him in the lineup over Frazier.

The recent outings, and especially this one tonight, is what I've been dreaming on.
That was an Ace / TOR / #1 Starter type outing.

So Wander Franco is a pedophile apparently?
I don’t have a twitter account so idk how to post tweets anymore.
I really, really hope this isn't true. (That he's been having a relationship / relations with a 14 year old) But what's on twitter is not a good look, and he's not in the lineup tdoay.

Who are these heavy pro-Angelos posters? I've never seen one.
"pro-Angelos"? Not sure I've ever seen or heard of such a thing in the last 25 years.

Holy Nashville, Batman!
Now, I am afraid of what will happen when the deals for Elias and SigBot3000(tm) are up. If any exec team has earned extensions and generous recompense, it's these guys.

During the '83 World Series, I was in US Air Force Basic Training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. I didn't get to so much as listen to a single inning. But, what me worry? The O's had been in 6 WS in the last 17 years, there will be plenty more. (Ooops)

Re: Flaherty, watching his dugout interview. So early, and based soley on fandom, but hope we can re-sign him.

Anyone who's been a starting pitcher will tell you, ya just never know. Pre-game bullpens can be great, then you get out there and bomb. I still remember my first start in college, I didn't throw a single ball over the plate with my warmup pitches, I had no idea where the ball was going. Might have been the first time in history the bullpen was up before the game even started. Then the first batter stepped up and five innings later hadn't walked a batter.
I love watching these guys (especially youngsters like GRod) get out there, and on days they don't have great stuff or great command, figure it out, adjust, and throw six or seven, and leave with a lead. So refreshing compared to what we've had last several years.
