Which position player isn't killing the offense? Holliday who reached on an error? Westburg because of what he did last night? Cowser because of his first ML home run? Yeah, they look bad out there.
Not worried about Holliday. He'll figure it out - even if he gets sent down and has to figure it out in Norfolk, I'm sure he'll regroup and come back and be good for us over the long haul. But he picked a terrible time to be ice cold, i.e. when the rest of the entire team is ice cold too.
How about that. Jackson Holliday, #7, gets on base on his 7th plate appearance, same as Cal Ripken Jr. Cal's was a hit, Jackson's was a fielding error.
Ump: denies the O's another chance and gives the Sux another chance. There should be real, tangible consequences for these guys when they blow these calls.
I'm happy to root for this team. They WILL struggle at some point this year, but they look about as advertised so far. A few cold bats, but the temps have been cold, so I'm not sure what we expected there.
Single, single, single... sounds like the winning formula the O's started last year. Yes, we can hit 'em out of the park, but the piece that was missing in 2012-2016 was small ball. We have that, now, too.
Their SP threw 87 pitches last time out. If he's throwing mostly hard stuff, he won't be able to give them much length if we take some pitches. Only way he can go deep in the game is if we swing early in the count and give him easy outs.
TIL (from a commercial on MASN, lol) that the streaming service "fubo" is now carrying MASN, and you can watch the live game without blackout restrictions even if you're right here in Maryland, hon.
Might be time to cut the cord.
That's most of the difference between 101-61 and 61-101. Winning the games you're supposed to win is going to happen even for the forgotten Oakland A's. Turning around a game when you're having an off night is the type of reversal that, if it happens consistently, sends you to the playoffs.
The quality of their play oddly seems to mimic the weather. They played well when it was warmer and dry. When it's cold and pissy, they play badly. It's like they let the weather get to them.
I'm even more annoyed at the weather than normal, because I'm planning a trip to Ohio to see the total eclipse next week, and it's looking pretty likely that it'll be cloudy and/or rainy. The weather is just giving us a giant finger right now. I hate it.
