  1. I think he was miscast when he was used as a late game pinch hitter against a high velocity reliever. But to start one to two times a week, and as a late inning running/defense replacement he’s good
  2. With staffing shortages finding and training that many temporary staff might be difficult for one night a month. I’m not sure how many Ezra people they actually have on staff right now, to shift people towards those sections. If the crowd size starts regularly being larger, I wonder if they start trying to open more more regularly
  3. Some people on this forum really do have a strange anti-McKenna bias. He’s a plus defender at three outfield positions, plus runner, and even with irregular at bats his ops is almost .700.
  4. Why on earth would you want to send mckenna down?
  5. Man, I want Vavra at second, and then Odor goes and turns the double play like that...and I briefly reconsider
  6. If vavra was playing 2b you could play Santander at dh and McKenna hays and mullins in the of, and I wouldn’t be mad
  7. McKenna gives you plus defense at three positions, and plus base running….and he’s been decent at the plate. It’s not even remotely marginal
  8. That was tagged, medium depth fly ball . I miss brown
  9. If the orioles told you the grass was green, you’d say it was actually blue and they died it green to fool everyone. Not everything is a conspiracy. To state the obvious he had something else he felt was more important or couldn’t be moved. That’s literally the definition of another commitment
  10. Lol Odor and Phillips both hit doubles, what even is this sorcery
  11. Johnson was a position player in college right? That might be part of the "rawness"
  12. We all know Odor has blackmail pictures on Elias or something, so I wonder if they're thinking about sending Nevin back down? Vavra doesn't really have the arm for the left side, so this might be a way to get them more cover at multiple spots
  13. You do if you want them to pitch for you at some point in the season. Basic roster construction, you're not going to have less then 20 pitchers on the 40 man at any time. The Orioles have cycled through more then that this year. You're also going to have 10 (really 12) position players. The conversation is always about those final few spots
  14. Keep in mind you're generally going to want 20-25 pitchers on your 40 man (currently the Orioles have 27, but 4 are on 60 day DL, so 23). Even if you DFA all of your bullpen backup pieces, you're going to have to sign other ones (and if you sign them to MiL deals, you have to re-add them to the roster if you want to recall them anyways). So you might as well keep Voth, he's better then most of your other options.
  15. Yeah, I mean you want some depth just in case someone gets injured, but they have some room. Keep in mind Adley is the only catcher on there, so you'll have to add a backup or two on at some point. Probably increases Handley's odds of being added to the roster
  16. To you. Elias on the other hand is a major league GM and, like all the rest of them, cares about the 40 man roster. Potentially permanently losing a player in September, might not be worth it to Elias just have to Henderson up a month early
  17. Pretty sure they want to put Means on the 40 day so rather then designating him for assignment, and the aforementioned Johnson (who isn’t technically on the 60 day dl yet, but will have to be added to the 40 man. I think they have some room if they want to dfa guys, but you would have to do that. It doesn’t come free
  18. I could see them going with Henderson at SS until Holiday is ready, and then him sliding to 3b (when he'll also be a bit older, and probably have filled out more), with Mateo as a UI and then Norby and Westburg. I sort of want to see what Ortiz does at triple A before I start putting him in the lineup long term
