I think we need a moveable LF fence ...

I think Hall is coming up too...but I will say that the other pitchers tonight have gone short stints, and the two behind Hall are also stretched out normally
-
Adley's been stealing strikes all night...but it came back to bite him that at bat
-
Mateo got a really bad read...and it didn't matter at all

Apparently plan is for all the Norfolk pitchers to go short stints coming off the break..but DL Hall time?

Pundits grade the 2022 draft

*we think* Jones' hit tool is way better. That's why I said it was Jones' floor, if it turns out his hit tool isn't as good as people think (remember he's never faced even college level pitching) -

The maybe interesting thing is that Jones' floor is essentially Fabian. Plus CF, plus power, questionable hit -
Well Voth isn't starting vs the Yankees

I get wanting prospects to come up, but why on earth would you remove pitchers performing well at the ML level for a prospect?

Just based on last year and 2019, it would be extremely unusual for a high school player to advance to Low-A. They have a lot going on, 1) transitioning to wood, but even outside of the games 2) they're living away from home for the first time 3) transitioning to a pro schedule etc. Having to manage a multi-state move in the middle of all of that is a lot.

What on earth? Westburg and Hall have barely been at Triple-A. In Wesburg's case it's not like he was slow-played at double-A either, and the organization sent Hall to Triple-A fast this year, despite him ending last year early and injured in double-A. A month ago, he was struggling in Triple-A. Adley aside, the organization has by and large been very aggressive with pushing hitters.

Day 3, who's left?
seak05 replied to Moose Milligan's topic in O's Amateur Draft and International Signings
I actually prefer* Loftin to Smith, but basically yeah *not that I really know enough to have an informed opinion -
Positional advantage generally goes to catcher. Its the top position on the defensive spectrum in terms of scale

They may not “want” to go back to school, but they have a lot of leverage (even more then hs kids in some respect, bc they don’t have to wait three years). There is always risk but if they think an extra year of performance will result in a significantly higher offer, then it’s worth it to spend the extra year. A guy like Wagner is a perfect example, if he returns as a junior and proves this year wasn’t a fluke, he’s probably a top 15 selection. So you have to offer enough that the 1yr gamble isn’t worth it.
