I have to completely disagree here. He didn’t put in the EFFORT to get his body infront of the ball. He has 2 passed balls and 15 wild pitches, the large majority of them ones that a catcher who put effort in could have kept infront of them or stopped, instead of just “ole”ing them.

Yeah, I can understand why he he was lackluster when Means was throwing a perfect game and didn’t bother trying to get that ball in the dirt. Things were going really awful...

Even though Wynns and Cumberland aren’t on the 40, Richie Martin could be called up and placed in the 60 day IL to free up a space. Or, DFA Waddell...

Wynns hit his second home run of the year today and Cumberland hit his 3rd. Both are showing some good power. Haven’t seen any of the games, so not sure about defense.

This. The starters seem to have a hard time getting through 4 innings or even making it to the 4th. Most have high pitch counts (70+ after 3 innings)

Not that I’m an expert or anything... But it seems pretty dumb to try and turn players into “utility” guys at a constant pace, instead of letting them concentrate at one spot. Mountcastle being in multiple spots, Trey going to the outfield, Stevie learning all 9 spots, Vavra and Martin, Holoday last season... How long until we see Rutschman at 3rd?

Rosa definitely was a player who should have gotten his cup of coffee. He actually wasn’t a bad player. Someone else who I wish got a shot: Drew Dosch. Left handed hitting 3rd baseman who retired to go into teaching and coaching because he fell out of love with baseball. He would have had a shot at the MLB roster the following season too.

Plus a “catchers interference.” Bad day all around.

Was playing in centerfield for the Tide tonight. He was taken out in the 4th after an “inside the park” home run was hit towards him. Unknown what happened at this time. If anyone is at the game or saw it, please update. Haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere at this time.
