  1. It's all part of a massive conspiracy that fools just about everyone except the few really smart people who can see through it all.
  2. I still think he starts at short. Not sure about all the young guys being traded. I think it makes more sense to move the veterans considering how much Angelos appears to hate spending money.
  3. I still think Gunnar's best position is third, especially as he gets older. Ortiz, from what I've read and seen, is the best shortstop. I think Holliday plays second to give us the best defensive alignment.
  4. I'd rather play inferior players than rush someone with as much potential as Holliday. Perhaps he is ready though. I will trust Elias and company to decide.
  5. I'd much rather have Luzardo. Sounds like the White Sox want Holliday. I'd much rather give up 2 or 3 MLB pieces instead of him. We have to trade a few to clear space anyway.
  6. Hall didn't show he could be a good starter for Norfolk. I'd rather use him in the bullpen. We have all kinds of excess talent in the infield and outfield. It's time for Elias to find a good, young starter.
  7. Ortiz, Cowser and Kjerstad have to be on the team or part of a trade. I don't think anyone is against rushing prospects more than me, but it's time. Elias has to move some people to find a starting pitcher upgrade.
  8. I like Baumann. Maybe he wins a job over someone. You only have eight spots though. Who does he replace?
  9. Oops, forgot Wells Right - Kimbrel, Wells, Cano and Webb. Left - Coulumbe, Perez, Hall and Irvin Pretty good depth at Norfolk with Vespi and maybe Baker
  10. Seems pretty well locked in to me. Right Kimbrel Cano Webb Baumann or Baker Left Perez Coulumbe Hall Irvin
  11. Yeah, I always assumed we all know this is speculation. It certainly seems as if the Mariners need to move pitching for position players though, so it's my hope for the Orioles at this point.
  12. Very depressing the Orioles are this far along and would even consider Miley an upgrade in the rotation. With all the depth we now have in the organization, the Mariners' option seems like the logical choice to me.
  13. That's what I think on Ortiz. Not sure about Mayo at first but I picked that since I like the rest of the lineup.
  14. He can just say, "Gunnar, you're playing third." I'd say the odds are he does play more short, but I just don't see Ortiz as a third baseman, and I can't get past that. I guess Mayo could end up there. I think Ortiz will be the best shortstop - not the best player, but the best shortstop.
  15. The Orioles didn't have anyone like Ortiz in 1982. I think DeCinces was traded to make room for Cal at third, but since the Orioles didn't have a very good shortstop at the time, it made sense to move him to short. It worked out pretty well. It could also work out for Gunnar. I think Cal would have been just as good at third.
  16. A lot of people seem to look at it that way, and perhaps Elias does also. My guess is that Henderson is the best third baseman in the organization and Ortiz is the best shortstop. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I also think with Henderson's size it would be best to lock him in at third for his career.
  17. I'd rather trade Westburg. I always thought it was a bad idea to let a guy with an arm like Scott go in the first place. Not sure you'd want to give up a prospect as good or Ortiz/Westburg for one year though.
  18. I heard the interview on MLB Network. Very impressive. No way I'd let him go. I'd rather trade Kremer and maybe Hays to find another starting pitcher and go with Irvin in the 5 spot, at least until McDermott is ready.
  19. My guess is Ortiz is our best defensive shortstop and Henderson is our best defensive third baseman. I'd think that is the best long-term plan. I expect Holliday to play second. If Westburg beats out Ortiz, then he plays second and Holliday plays short with Ortiz as the utility guy. All just a guess, of course, but that's what I expect. I'd also lean toward Mateo over Urias, at least until Holliday moves up.
  20. I didn't like trading Bundy for Bradish a few years back. I bet the Angels hate that move now. I'd keep McDermott, but Elias seems to have a good idea on these decisions.
  21. No doubt. I like his potential and think he could be a solid starter for us. Heard an interview on MLB Network and was impressed by his comments and even more by the comments from the people talking about his stuff and improvement and chances to be really good.
  22. I'd much rather have six years of McDermott than two of Cease. I may not make a 1-for-1 trade there with his potential.
  23. I hope we don't trade Norby for a middle reliever. We already have Cano, Coulumbe, Hall, Wells, Perez.....I'm sure Elias can find a middle reliever somewhere for much less than a top prospect.
  24. Not a big deal either way. I think we have six decent relievers for 2024 without Lopez or Bautista, plus several other candidates, and I'm sure Elias will find a couple of others to fight for a job.
