Wilcard had been talking him up in the minors and I really didn't care or buy into it but he does look a little more hitterish now. I think he's a competent fielder but that throw past Odor took all of the good feeling away from his offense and he's made some questionable running plays in this short time back here. Not sure how high the baseball IQ is but he's got the things you want from a utility guy. Speed, competent defense at multiple positions (not sure how he looked in the OF at Norfolk).
Just chatted about his new stance. I thought I was the only one that noticed how much it helped him.

He seems like he has a new stance geared towards generating more power, and instead of looking like someone who got lucky to poke a homer around the Pesky pole last year, could actually hit 8-12 home runs in a season. The triple to dead center over Taylor's head was jacked. While I still do not believe he will be a big part of the future, I'd like to see him get regular bats over the next few weeks, or at least until Urias is healthy. I know he was also getting a lot of extra base hits at Norfolk, so perhaps this change in approach has been going on all year.
I and RZNJ have discussed this in multiple threads. Go Richie Martin!!! It amazes me how few watch games on milb.tv.

It sucks but rushing him won’t help any parties involved. All depends.

On offense, he got caught between third and home after Mullins got caught between first and second. Dumb play by both. But, I did think that Martin looked better at the plate than he has in the past. He’s an upgrade over Owings and I look forward to seeing what he can do.
