I'm sure it's good for the young man to finally get his career started for real. Let's hope he can relax a bit and put up some numbers and move up fairly quick to catch his level up with his age.
Great story and very happy for him! Batting 2nd tonight!

Yes. Was actually getting ready to head to Omaha with a friend to see him play when he told me to hold off due to the trade.
He has changed his stance and is now standing a bit more upright and also has his hands back. While we haven’t talked much “shop,” it looks like it cut down on his bat movement during the swing, as he shortened up the initial “load” when bringing his hands back, allowing him to get through the zone quicker.
Also worked on his strike zone recognition. He’s always seemed to take pitches before, but now he seemed to be better at not swinging at horrible “pitchers” pitches and fouling off stuff close to the zone.
His mentality also seems different. Said he wanted to be a tougher out. Seems to be going well.
That’s awesome! Pulling for him and SF is such a great opportunity for him!

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's Richie Martin with a totally new batting stance and leg kick. Isn't it?
Yep! He’s been hitting much better this year.

Taylor homered off his old teammate

I'm just thrilled for Kjerstad himself. To have gone through what he has and finally be back to doing what he loves... that's a special moment right there.

He’s improving but the power is non-existent so far. The hit tool will have to be elite for him to have a ML impact. Probably why the Orioles were messing with his swing.
Nailed it.

So we can now start criticizing the pick on his actual merit as a player?
Sweet.
Second overall pick, college bat playing in Delmarva and he can't do better than a grounder to second? Pffft. I thought he was the best power bat in his draft class?
Calling it now, bust.
And he just struck out! Bum!:)

Pretty big bombshell here. My early take is this is not good for the Orioles to be buyers this offseason. If the team is going to be sold, they don't want to have any big contracts to have to pay off.
Yep. Everything hinges on Angelos’ death. I don’t like him as an owner but definitely pretty morbid stuff.

Decent at bat there. Minus the annoying heckler.

3 for 3 and 2 walks, more like this please! Maybe he’ll be the new face of the Nashville Angelos’

To split some hairs, you're not just speculating. You're making a very reasonable inference from the facts that are out there.
He’s right.

So Mom wanted to sell, and Lou blocked it and then LIED to her about having another buyer, trying to sell.....now is attempting to seize control of the team. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree that is for sure.
It sounds like John wants to move to Nashville, and Mom and the others don't. Probably had a more local buyer on the line before he killed that deal. And now Lou is doing everything he can to get his way. Hence the lawsuit.
Buckle up this is just the beginning. If you think that guy won't move this team if he has his way, you are mistaken IMO. Just look at the scant evidence we have so far, and that cryptic tweet by Fenton that more is coming.
Great post. Lou wants to sell, I gotta think mlb steers things in that direction for a variety of obvious reasons.

I'm sure Russel Martin had a fan club already, but how about you start up the RICHIE Martin fan club instead?
Sorry, multitasking:) Go Richie!!!!!

Anyone hear anything about when he might be activated? Or was there a hiccup/setback?

I am definitely not saying to send him down but honest question: what would it take to get a demotion to Norfolk?
Nobody took a stab at this, what would it take to get a demotion? O for 50? Just asking the question. Certainty not saying he should be demoted. My guess is something VERY severe but not sure what that is honestly. What does everyone think?

I'm thinking they add Martin. He's earned another shot and at least brings some speed for late in the game pinch running.
I hope so. Fingers crossed. The Russell Martin Fan Club member 1:)

Just hit a homer in his first at bat in AAA!

By the way, Garceau had an opportunity for a great call on Hays' upper decker last night and absolutely muffed it.

He also called Kyle Bradish, Carl Bradish and on several occasions had the wrong batter at the plate…but let’s debate who is better?

The good news is that we replaced his spot with an equally terrible player. Awesome!
Excellent. The plan is coming together.
