In September of 1981, I was was watching a pre-game show regarding baseball players with emotional problems, and Mike Ivie was one of them. I rooted hard for him after that.

In May of that year (1981), Ivie was found crying in the locker room of his team at the time (the Houston Astros) after he had had a bad game. Ivie stated that he felt pressure ever since he was a little kid to be the best, and suffered when he was unable to me those nearly impossible standards.
