"As of right now, they (Orioles) haven't made an offer," said Martz, pitcher for Sedalia, Mo., in the Missouri-Illinois-Kansas-Nebraska (MINK) League. "But it's early and they have until mid-August to do it."Martz might be somewhere in between - possibly signing later this summer or returning to McKendree. It's likely he will be a Bearcat for one more year.

"I'm pretty sure I will go back to school next year," Martz said. "I'm almost positive about it."

The 'Cats certainly want him back. Martz made quite an impression on McKendree coach Jim Boehne, a former standout hurler at Carlyle High, the past spring. Martz was 7-4 with a 5.84 ERA in 13 starts. He fashioned six complete games, including a two-hit shutout over William Woods University, where Wooley toiled.

Follow this link and run down to his name. I have no clue of the quality of his competition but he is doing real well. No idea of what stuff he has.

Kid only has one more year of college left.

Here is a BA article from October about the league. They have expanded and hope to become one of the top collegiate summer leagues.
