  1. I’d be happier if we were actually having rain.
  2. This delay is ridiculous. Wasn’t raining first 45 minutes. Since then, not raining hard enough to stop an ongoing game. And of course, no information about how long we have to wait.
  3. Thanks for saving me the work. Looks like Sharkey is on the IL; he hasn’t pitched since May 3. Bragg has really come on; he allowed 5 ER in his first outing of the year and only 1 ER since.
  4. Jorge is a speeding bullet, Gunnar is runaway freight train.
  5. Mateo at .733 OPS is an extremely valuable player. Is he likely to stay at .733? History says no.
  6. He’d be an amazing wide receiver.
  7. I wonder what’s happened to Luis Valdez, who led the O’s minor leaguers in stolen bases the last two years (71 and 47). He hasn’t played this season but I don’t remember seeing him on a list of players who were cut. I have no illusions that he had any shot at the majors, but he was entertaining to follow. It will be interesting to see if Josenberger or Bradfield can top Valdez’s 71 steals from two years ago.
  8. Really? I wonder if the folks at MASN know that. Someone should alert them!
  9. Yes. I don’t consider that fact fun. It annoys me when a team has a period with a bunch of off days followed by a period where they’re just playing relentlessly. The off days should be spaced more evenly.
  10. The weather app on my phone isn’t showing any rain after 2 pm, and a total accumulation of 0.1” for the remainder of the day. Doesn’t seem likely to even cause a delay. I’m going today with my wife, who absolutely detests rain delays. So it better not rain!
  11. Short answer is, OPS measures batting, not baserunning. There are plenty of other stats that judge overall offense that take baserunning into account.
  12. It will be fascinating to see if Simpson can climb the ladder. Seems like despite his speed, he’s not the defender Bradfield is. He made a nice catch last night though: https://www.milb.com/bowling-green/video/chandler-simpson-secures-the-win-with-an-amazing-grab
  13. So did I but I had them both very fast. Mateo maybe 10.50 - .55, Gunnar 10.60 -.65? That seems awfully fast and I may be a touch slow on the draw starting the timer or a touch fast stopping it. That’s why I asked others to time them. Anyway, those were fun to watch.
  14. Personally, the way Irvin has pitched the last four times out, I wouldn’t want to be skipping him. I’d be skipping Kremer to let that blister of his heal up.
  15. Point is, weight is only important insofar as it affects speed. Cowser is actually a little faster (27.9 ft/sec) than Mullins (27.7) right now, so I really don’t care if he outweighs Mullins by 50 pounds. That’s irrelevant. (I am not arguing that Cowser is a better CF than Mullins, just that weight has no bearing on it.)
