  1. As a fan of baseball, McClanahan is fun to watch pitch. Can't even get mad at the hitters. This is unhittable stuff. We just have to hope he gets tired and we can get to the relievers. This is what a real TOR looks like.
  2. Pitching coach was like, "What are you doing? you know this is RYAN Freakin' MCKENNA. throw a strike."
  3. Tough way to go through 162 games. I mean, I can see late in games in keep situations, but not sure you can survive living and dying every with every play, every inning.
  4. Nice. Amazing these teams and their lineups. Lowe has struggled all year, but nope, bat him 4th. lol
  5. Can't have a lack of command, not great stuff, and brain fart too. Not a good start for Gibson.
  6. Perez may not be available due to whiplash.
  7. They could definitely play him there, but Lewin Díaz is a premium defender at 1b and hitting so they want to keep him playing there and keep Kjerstad in AA. I'm sure they could find enough PAs for him in AAA though between 1B/RF/DH.
  8. I'm thinking Kjerstad could be moved up in the next few weeks. They probably would like to see him get 400 PAs there this year if possible and see if he's an option for next year. At least that's what I would do. The only reason to keep him in Bowie longer is to give him priority play at 1B to get him a longer look there defensively.
  9. I have Westburg over Cowser, but I could have built a case to put Cowser over him because of his defensive abilities and the fact that he's hit left-handers a little bit so far. I almost jumped Cowser but decided Westburg has done nothing to fall in the rankings. Honestly, Cowser, Westburg, Ortiz can all be moved around as you like based on your own personal preferences. You may be able to add Kjerstad into this list as well, but I want to see him against AAA pitching first.
  10. Trust me when I tell you will lose a whole lot of credibility with baseball fans here if you don't know the difference between point and runs. What's ridiculous is someone who literally doesn't use the correct term and then instead of actually just saying, "My bad, i meant runs" actually is defending his usage. What do you call it when a football team gets the ball across the goal line, a home run? Have you ever in your life said the Ravens won 27 runs to 14? No, because the terms are used differently. Everyone know in baseball you score runs, not points.
  11. Agreed. Not sure why game cast doesn't give the full picture like throw velocities and catch percentage.
  12. Adley no matter what, especially if they can't walk him. Outside of him, it would depend in the type of pitcher. If it's a right-handed strikeout pitcher, maybe Frazier? If it's an every right-hander probably Santander, Mullins and then Urias even though he's been the best. Left-hander, probably Santander and then Urias after Adley.
  13. Good post. You're getting a hang of statcast, nice. It's worth noting that while Stowers does not have enough "competitive jumps" to have 2023 numbers show up yet, he really has not been challenged. Every ball that has dropped in his way had a 99% or more chance of not being caught and his hardest catch was 95%. He did however have a 98.5 MPH throw which was probably his throw yesterday.
  14. Well that is certainly up to you with how you "feel". Could the Orioles get swept at home by the red hot Rays, sure, teams get swept all the time, but I'm more concerned with how they win or lose. The starting pitching needs to get deeper into games of the Orioles need to have a few guys they are willing to let pitch 2 - 3 innings in relief so they don't burn that pen to the ground. That and their weird lineups that seems to want to put an out machine like Mountcastle higher in the lineup because he happens to have some pop. He also happens to have way too many unprofessional PAs and is batting .196/.241/.333/.574 with 2 outs and has a .200 OBP with RISP. Mountcastle would be better in the 6th hole if this team actually went out and got the MOO that they needed this offseason.
  15. You mean the thread that was basically ignored because it was ridiculous? I think we do a pretty damn good job of merging things but sometimes, someone wants to discuss something. The hell of catch Kyle probably slipped through since we typically want game thread comments in the game thread, but crap man, do you want perfection? Saying that the mods aren't around much is taking a shot at me and the other mods and I don't personally appreciate it. I frickin' work pretty damn hard behind the scenes deleting posts, having to play "moderator" to you and RZNJ when you get into you tiffs, and many othe things that you have no clue about, so sorry that we missed a Nice catch Kyle thread. You have no idea how much time goes into this behind the scenes to make this the best place to talk O's. The "product" is as good as it's even been thank you.
