I was down with his meltdown. It was good to see him find a way to not let things get out of control this time. That was growth.

Bradish has his A stuff for sure. It was really good to see him shake off the inside the park HR. Instead of imploding like he did last game, he bore down. That's growth!

See, this is where you fail Orioles Hangout 101. One of my jobs on here and something I've done for oh, I don't know, 20+ years is to keep the boards moving with information and to tidy up things when it's starts to get cluttered. I beleive it clutters things up when you start 2022 thread for guys who weren't even in our top 75 prospects at the end of the year. Now, if a 20th round pick who is almost 22 years old and couldn't make Delmarva over the rif raft that did gets you excited, feel free. However, I woul prefer if we don't make 2022 threads until they are top 30 prospects, on the bubble or doing something of worthiness.

There's no harm in following any player I guess. I just prefer we let players earn their way into a "season tracker" thread. Just my preference but not a rule.

I meant at the start of their career. Hamilton had well over 1000 professional PAs when he was forced to take a sabbatical. And he's quite the story of a comeback, up until he wasn't again.

Are you planning on making a 2022 page for every minor leaguer? Typically we wait until they resemble a prospect on the scene. Maybe make a guy who was a 20th round pick and who was 20 years, 303 days old before he was able to make his Low-A debut earn his way a bit before we start tracking his every swing? Unless he was hurt, the fact he could not open on a full season club was huge orange flag for me on his progress. Similar to Creed Willems, but even worse because of his age. When you look at such luminaries like 23-year old Davis Tavárez who were playing in the outfield before him, gotta make you go hmmm. But, in your defense, nice first game.

There are some Polyanna fans that probably still believe! lol Obviously the book has not been written on Kjerstad, yet. He will be quite the story if he ever amounts to anything after his lengthy delay to his professional debut.

Right now, as of today, Kjerstad is the hitting version of Chris Smith, but he was the 2nd overall pick instead of the 5th. i wonder hw many players were able to take two years off from playing competitively and come back to play in the majors. I know a couple of the Morman guys ended up making it after two years for their mission, but I don't know if any ended up having a long career. I'm sure someone will have an example. Let's hope the young man gets a chance to get 250 PAs this year but honestly, anything the Orioles get from Kjerstad should be considered a bonus at this point. BTW, Robert Hassell was the 9th over pick and an underslot at $4,300,000. And yeah, RHP Max Myers (3rd overall) would have looked pretty good in the system. Yeah, I know, nobody could have predicted the Myocarditis but it does look like they picked the wrong guy to underslot on for sure. Let's hope the Orioles don't make that mistake with the 1st overall this year.

I haven't noticed him hitting into a lot of bad luck, but I don't see every PA either. Earlier in the year Mayo kept flying out to the warning track and had a lot of loud outs so I knew he would start hitting for some power eventually. I haven't really noticed that from Westburg. He seems to be struggling with his swing decisions a bit. But, there's talent in there so hopefully he start to figure this out soon.

Well if he's on the Baumler pitching progression program we'll see him in minor league action next spring. Maybe.

He was 1-for-31 with 12 Bb and 17 K's in his first 44 PAs. He was also just 19-years old and then went on slash .325/.402/.588/.990 over his next 92 PAs. Westburg's "slump" if combined with last year AA numbers has him slashing .212/.317/.414/.730 in 237 PAs in AA now. Last hope he turns it on soon.

The Orioles minor league trainers should be pros at "the normal buildup from a hamstring injury" with as many as they've had this year.

He must not be one of the guys on the MiLB telecasts. I don't remember hearing some fun and eloquence. Then again, i skip around a lot. lol

I'm 100 percent behind him eventually being tried as a starter at the big league level. He could certainly be a Josh Hader type, but he has the four pitch mix of a starter. Whether he can maintain that to 100 pitches would be what I'd want to know, but if he can, he's got TOR stuff.

I would not be surprised to see Hall end up in a bulk reliever role similar to Akin this year in in order to meet his innings limit. Next year the expectation should be that he will claim a rotation spot along with Grayson.

This is where the annual Vavra injury hurts. If he was doing well in Norfolk and healthy, he'd be the guy to bring up though he's not great at turning DPs.

If it hastens the end of the Odor era, I'm ok with this move. I don't think Cano is the answer to anything, but Odor has to go. He's been one of the worse players in baseball when you combine is lack of offense with -4 OAA on defense. about the only thing Cano has done well is turn DPs.

I wouldn't count Westburg out. Lots of talent there, but just really scuffling. i do think you leave 3B open for Henderson or Mayo though.

I haven't heard of any injuries but it took him 30 pitches to get through his one inning of work. I doubt that's the guy they want to start on Thursday. If Lowther doesn't start this week, I'm guessing it's him or Allen.

i have to agree a bit here. The system as whole is not exactly tearing it up. As I explained in a previous spot, the Top 10 guys outside of Rutschman, Rodriguez and Hall are not exactly lighting it up in the early going outside of Gunnar. There's nobody but Prieto (who pulled a hamstring) who was really banging on that top 10 door who will still be in the rankings next year. Obviously whoever we draft first overall in July will get a top 1-3 spot depending on who is still eligible.

Well, obviously it's very early in the season and guys can still right the ship or break out, but out of our top 10 prospects not covered above, only Gunnar Henderson has solidified himself as a top 100 prospect in baseball. Mayo is holding his own in Single A while Cowser has struggled. Westburg has been in awful slump for weeks now, and Stowers has slumped after a hot start. Norby has been doing ok in Aberdeen.

Mateo has probably the best arm we've seen in Baltimore in a long time. 70 arm for sure.
