  1. Hey, lucky double for Odor and now 2nd and 3rd and not outs. How do they screw this up?
  2. If Odor cant catch a simple ball from the outfield, he needs to go. Good Lord. No way Ushela should have scored without a play there.
  3. Damn you guys are quick! lol.. I was looking at the boxscores, saw Diaz playing, came here and boom, two posts on it already! Good work!
  4. Urias has never hit in April. He hit so bad last year that they demoted him. He seems to hit when it heats up like Mountcastle. Urias Career April OPS: .179/.230/.245/.475 in 113 PAs. He doesn't have a monthly OPS under .755 in any other month.
  5. Nevin is a replacement level placeholder. He's a line drive hitter without the plus power that you want from your corner infielders. He's made himself into an effective third baseman who can make the routine play, but don't ask him to do much else. Sayin that, I'd have no problem with giveing him regular PAs for awhile to see how he hits up in the big leagues.
  6. Gotta love when he can command that splitter. So nasty.
  7. Well, considering that he had to "fight" to get to his .159/.302/.205/.506 slash line, I'm ready for him to take his place on the bench as a backup.
  8. Last year Odor had a 12-game streak where he slashed .304/.373/.544/.916 in 52 PAs. He then promptly remembered who he was and slashed .125/.263/.219/.482 over his next ten games (38 PAs)
  9. Bradish's arrival and success in his first start does make it a little more interesting, but this roster still has too many replacement level or worse players on the roster. The bullpen for the most part has been very good and I really like what I've seen from Akin in the long roll as well as the new additions like Perez, Bautista and Krehbiel. Even Baker has not been too bad although he's been a bit unlucky. Still, as long as you guys like Fry, Lakins, Owings, Odor, and really Nevin on the roster, this team is going to be limited. When Bemboom is your best pinch runner late in game, you may not have the best roster allocation. I agree that this team has the potential to get better with the arrival of Rutschman and hopefully Rodriguez and maybe Stowers (if he can get out his funk), but we will need the pitching to find a way to keep itself decent while hoping the offense rights itself.
  10. So what we're saying is that we are getting the proper level of a suckitude that should have been expected?
  11. How was he right about Lopez? He did not think he would be a good fit as closer. So far that's not been true.
  12. Unless Westburg gets hot, he's not going anywhere. He's been pretty awful of late at the plate!
  13. His -.2 WAR would be better than Odor's awful -.4 WAR, but he cost $6 million vs major league minimum. Really Urias should have been the everyday 2B and they should have tried to find a 3Bman to fill in this year vs Odor.
  14. Pretty piss poor PA by Mountcastle, Poor swing decision Can't swing on anything that you ground out in. Gotta be trying to lift the ball there. You can definitely tell he did not come up through the current system.
  15. I watche that live. that was when I realize he has real pop, no just pull power.
  16. When he was first acquired it was surprising by his lack of plus tools. He had no plus tool to work of and never really developed.
  17. Yeah, I've noticed a lot more swing and miss this year with him on fastballs in fastball counts. It just seems like he's not seeing he ball well.
  18. I'm not worried over Rodriguez. It was a tough week, but it appears they had him working on fastball command and had him throw more fastballs than usual, or at least it seemed that way. He really didn't have the feel for his off-speed in the second game last week and i didn't see the first one. Yesterday he didn't have his good stuff, but if the Tides had an adequate defensive outfielder in LF his numbers would have looked better. He still got a lot of swings and misses.
  19. He's had some of the worse luck I've seen in some time. Hopefully things will even out soon for him. But he sure has been awful with RISP.
  20. Maybe. They are hurting for outfielders in Norfolk right now. They had to bring up a guy from extended spring training who was terrible in A-ball last year and he misplayed two balls that cost Rodriguez. Some guys must be banged up so maybe sending him back to get some ABs and perhaps get him started a bit. Saying that, I think McKenna is who he's going to be.
  21. The choice between Gutierrez and Nevin is like having to choose between duct tape or a hasty weld. They'll both do the job for awhile, but ultimately they need to be replaced.
