  1. i don't think Urias is great at SS, but I see no reason you can't play him there in a spot. I've seen nothing from Owings that suggests he's some defensive wizard there either. Owings is like Flaherty but he doesn't hit left-handed.
  2. Yeah, that's a headscratcher. McKenna at least brings defense (though he dropped that easy ball) and speed. I'm not sure what Owings brings but like Lakins, he seems to be a guy they like for some reason. Urias can fill in at SS and 3B so there's no need for Owings.
  3. Not that Owings should still be here, but Gutierrez literally has no role on this team if they plan to look at Nevin at 3B.
  4. Lopez has been scoed upon in just one of his outings and he's throwing a 98-99 MOH singer that;s moving 7.5 inches horizontally. I dont want to say I told you so yet, but the stuff looks fantastic as a 1-2 inning guy!
  5. Or, or, you try Elias' way of making your left field porch insanely far and then make sure you have a right-handed heavy lineup. At least their top hitting prospects are mostly left-handed.
  6. That's a lot of atitude for a guy who has been as bad as Odor.
  7. Yeah, but I thought someone was tracking how many it cost us and the other teams to see if they even out.
  8. It was certainly moved way too far back and then adding the height of the wall takes away all the fun of outfielders jumping into the stands to try and get balls back. I hate it.
  9. Is anyone keeping track now?
  10. No, minus three runs since that would have been a grand slam. How exciting pushing that wall back has been.
  11. Elias' Baltimore monster just cost us three runs.
  12. Cora was like, when you give up hits to Odor, Nevin and Mateo in the same inning, you gotta come out.
  13. BTW, did anyone notice that throw from Jaylin Davis in LF? Holy smokes I hope that slipped out of his hand.. haha
  14. The power of my reverse jinx can not be overstated!
  15. Hey, 1st and 2nd no outs. Who wants to guess they don't score? Nevin, Bemboom and Mateo.. sounds like a K, popup, and groun out.
  16. Hey, hell of a play by Nevin there at 1B. Can't do much better!
  17. Pretty tough to pitch when you have to be almost perfect with this offensive offense the Orioles are employing.
  18. He has been decent for sure and the good news it appears he's added a pitch and improved the movement of another so there's a possibility the improvements (though I doubt he's going to keep a 2.88 ERA or anywhere close to that) could be for real. He added a slider to go along with his cutter, curveball, changeup and 4-seamer and although he's only thrown it 44 times, it has been his best WHIFF pitch at 32% and batters have put up just a .104 WOBA off the pitch so far. He completely remade his curveball adding almost 8 inches of verticle movement and five inches of horizontal movement. So instead of a rolling curveball he's got sharper break and less of a 12-6 movement to more of a 1-7 movement. Surprisngly it's been less effective than last year in the early going. The changeup has the same well below average movement but batters have put just a .208 WOBA vs a .337 WOBA last year so perhaps he's plaing it better. At the end of the day, the slider seems to be a good pitch for him and it will be interesting to see if that becomes a pitch that helps his below average fast ball and changeup play up a bit. It's still not a great package overall and batters hit him hard, and his 5.14 FIP is probably closer to his talent level at best. Saying that, he could end up being a long guy/bulk reliever.
  19. From baseball savant: Basically the statistics with "x" in front are expected stats. If you go into the leaderboards for each statistical category there is an explanation at the top.
  20. Too bad they don't get credit for trying hard! lol This is not horseshoes or hand grenades.
  21. Can't let a 24-year old play a whole game now after rehabbing for 6 weeks with a "tricep strain".
