  1. Hmm, this is a place where DJ Stewart might be a good PH. I'd probably OH Odor here.
  2. Absolutely, which is why I said it's something to keep an eye on.
  3. At the end of the day, what you make of this board is on you, not the board as whole because there is no prevailing opinion. I hate to break it to you some of you, but if you are concerned about making an opinion on here because of a few people, then you definitely should stay off Facebook/Twitter/etc. If you wonder why there is more negative than positive on here, maybe it's because the team's record for the last 4 years and then look at all the penny pinching ways when it comes to TV/radio broadcasts and from what we heard, the game day experience to some extent. Now if you are one of those fans that prefer unicorns and rainbows when talking about the O's, then this is probably not the place for you because EVERYTHING will be analyzed. We are all fans on here, but this is a thinking man's/woman's board. I've always said that it's more important to have the right people on here than a LOT of people. We've always preferred quality of quantity. While some people can be more aggressive than others, the people who are respected here are the ones that can back their opinions up with statistics and analysis. This is the major leagues of message boards. Hell, I had to up my game knowing that I couldn't just throw out a comment like "Mountcastle looks slower" because I know I better go get some sprint speeds to back up that claim. That's what makes this place special though in my opinion. I've learned probably more than I've taught over the years on this board because of the smart folks that make up this board. Whether they are more on the negative side or positive side, nobody spends hours on here if they are not a fan! Personally, I love how this board acts, but can understand if it's not for some. That's not a hit on anyone, just a fact. I have family members that have been fans for 50 plus years, but this is probably not their place to discuss the Orioles. I always hope good, smart, passionate fans call this place their home, but I realize their are many more lurkers and that's ok. If the board is not for you, I understand, but it's not going to change and I'm kinda proud of that.
  4. I thought Mountcastle looked bigger and saw he's listed at 230 pounds now in baseball savant. Now maybe it was just a few slower than normal sprints, but his sprint speed is down 3 seconds and went from 75 percentile to 26 percentile. It will be interesting if his sprint speed rises back closer or did he slow down that much. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/ryan-mountcastle-663624?stats=statcast-r-running-mlb
  5. No matter what, I'm rooting for the guy because he's wearing the orange and black. I'm going to hope that I look at his statcast info and see that he is doing something different.
  6. This seems on point. I'm not sure if I've heard a good thing about the ticket people. I guess you get what you pay for when it comes to the Orioles. They need an entire reimagining of how the organization communicates and treats the fans.
  7. I only heard a little bit of it after the game and the replay started, but I will say this, as much as Hunter was annoying homer during his radio and television broadcasts, he was a very good MC. Everything about that pregame ceremony seemed forced and amateurish. But I don't think it's about getting the best person for the job anymore with the Orioles.
  8. I 100% believe some computer program told Sig to limit young pitchers. When I watch how other teams use their pitchers pitcher count wise and after injuries, most seem to have different approaches. We'll have to see how it all works out but the Orioles really, really taking things to the extreme. We're seeing 50 or 60 pitch, pitch counts and 3-4 innings on starts so far. Meanwhile, most other minor league teams seem to have an 80-pitch limit on their starters already. It's frustrating to not see guys like Hall and Baumler pitch at some level. Personally I believe they get more out of pitching in games then in sim games or throwing sessions. But again, the Orioles are slaves to the computer programs when it comes to usage of players. They don't take any of the mental part of it into consideration. It's very sterile from what I can see and have heard. It's like they treat every player like the same robot and if the computer program says they pitch this many pitches or play this position, then that's what happens. The program says picking pitches are risky so they barely pick them in the top ten rounds. Meanwhile the Delmarva pitching staff is awful with guys that don't belong in even A ball. I guess we'll see whether this all works or not, but I know I'm starting to have concerns on how they are developing pitchers.
  9. The different ball is the biggest reason for me to see him start at AAA vs AA. Elias seems to want guys to get some success at lower levels and then move them. I just think when you have a lefty throwing near 100 with three plus breaking pitches that you probably want to look at him at AAA with the major league ball. But Elias has an aversion to pitching his prospects much or challenging them.
  10. Sounds like total lack of execution and preparedness from the game day operations folks. Not surprising since most things in this organization is done bare bones and with a lack of execution. I can gaurantee the flyover people were on the timetable they were supposed to be. Sounds like whoever was in charge of that portion from the Orioles side was not on point. All of this just seems like a general lack of respect for their fans.
  11. Speaking of the bots, but I saw one guy who was just horrible had like 217 followers, but was getting like 85 likes on his terrible comment. That is exactly why I don't want much to do with Twitter. lol
  12. Thanks, but I doubt they care enough even if some people complain. Really, at the end of the day, they decided to change their policy and that took me out. Apparently I don't even qualify for daily credentials. Either way, it kinda is what it is at this point.
  13. But that's what the Orioles should find out this year. This weird short spring training has made a lot of guys be in their dead arm stage of spring as the season starts. I'm going to assume that's part of what happened, but I think you run him out there for about a month and see how he looks.
  14. Post game show was really pushing the "stadium experience"! lol. Its so obvious how much they are being told to push people to the park.
  15. Nice job there at Camden Yards to have everything working. lol
  16. But let's talk about some BS on the telecast.
  17. I think that ball landed in the net. That should be out of play and Hay should be on 2nd.
  18. I don't think anyone is super excited, but he's the guy. Guess we'll see how he looks under the pressure of saving a game.
  19. Nice to have a hard throwing lefty that can throw strikes. Nice job. Now we have to hope Lopez can hold in the 9th.
  20. Santander always looks good until his inevitable injury that slows him down.
