  1. Always updated by Fangraphs! Roster Resource does a great job of providing a nice look at minor league depth. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/orioles
  2. It's never really made sense, especially now that they've put values on each pick. Teams should absolutely be able to trade draft picks.
  3. Was there people questioning this? I knew there were people questioning him going back and finishing his degree and missing instructs before anyone knew of the myocarditis diagnosis, but I don't recall reading anyone questioning his desire to get better and play baseball again. Maybe I missed it though.
  4. Looking at this pictures, he hasn't even grown into his man strength yet and he's putting up major league EVs. He's going to be a beast.
  5. Locks - DL Hall, Kyle Bradish, Terrin Vavra, Felix Bautista Chance: Robert Neustrom, Kevin Smith, Cody Sedlock, Cameron Bishop, Ofelky Peralta Probably not: Greg Cullen, Adam Hall, Cadyn Grenier, Logan Gillaspie, Adam Stauffer, Brett Cumberland, Mason McCoy, Lamar Sparks, Gray Fenter, Brenan Hanifee, Ignacio Feliz, Conner Loeprich, , Diogenes Almengo, Ryan Conroy, Tim Naughton (
  6. Agreed. Have to imagine we are looking for pitching everywhere, including overseas! With as many outfield prospects coming up, doubt they would spend money on one.
  7. Why would Harvey want to leave? It's not like he doesn't have an opportunity here if he stays healthy. Either way, I doubt this is player requested.
  8. This is where I'm at. Very questionable DFA. Don't get me wrong, Harvey can't stay healthy and his stuff really wasn't all that great after all the injuries, but really he's the kind of arm the Orioles should be taking chances on not giving away. I mean for God's sake, Isaac Matson, Joey Krehbiel, and Brooks Kriske are still on the 40-man. Just a strange move unless they know something about his current injury status.
  9. Impressive young man for sure. Glad to hear he feels he back 100% and will be ready to go come next spring. Let's all hope and pray that this young man is over this and can focus on baseball.
  10. Last year I heard he was hitting 95 MPH, right before it went pop! Pitchers aren't throwing against batters this fall from what I heard.
  11. And reportedly up to 95 MPH, so if it happened before then, he was throwing hard with it!
  12. Who are the Orioles 2021 #11 and #12 prospects?
  13. https://www.orioleshangout.com/2021/11/04/10-connor-norby/
  14. Those veocities were off. I ended up checking and it was a very hot gun that day. He's still on the prospect scene but he's not throwing 95-97, more like 92-93.
  15. Who is the Orioles 2021 #10 prospect?
  16. https://www.orioleshangout.com/2021/11/03/9-heston-kjerstad/
  17. Good Memory.. 2007 I had Britton ranked #10 when no one had him on a top 30 list and 2008 was the year I named Zach Britton #9. 1. Wieters - 18.4 rWAR 2. Matusz - 2.1 rWAR 3. Tillman - 8.7 rWAR 4. Arrieta - 23.2 rWAR 5. Rowell - Never made majors 6. Snyder - -0.1 rWAR (211vPAs) 7. Reimold - 2.8 rWAR 8. Spoone - Never made majors (injury) 9. Britton - 14 rWAR 10. Erbe - Never made majors Total: 69.1 rWAR https://web.archive.org/web/20081203233415/http://orioleshangout.com/article.asp?ID=1803 I'll bet that this Top 10 will out WAR 2008 Top Ten but that is not a bad top 10 overall.. Worth Noting Caleb Joseph - 4.6 rWAR David Hernandez - 4.5 rWAR Brad Bergeson - 2.9 rWAR Oliver Drake - 1.1 rWAR All were eligible for the list so the system ended up putting out 82.2 rWAR...
  18. If it helps any, I heard yesterday from Mike that Kjerstad is doing baseball activities like taking BP right now so they're hopeful he will be ready by next spring.
  19. Funny that you mentioned JJ's name because that's who he reminds me of when he plays SS. He has a very good game clock to get guys out by that half step. Saying that, JJ's arm was stronger when he needed it.
  20. This is a really good observation and point. Even with the power hitters, all of them have high OBPs and the ability to take a walk. The previous group of prospects like Hays, Mountcastle and even Santander are all guys with good power potential, but not high OBP abilities. With Cowser, Westburg and even some of the guys on the rest of the list (no particular order) like Donta Williams, Connor Norby, and Terrrin Vavra are all line drive OBP guys who mix in with the power potential guys like Rutschman, Mayo, Henderson, Stowers and Kjerstad.
  21. I have to say this is the best top 8 I've ever done. Mix of high ceilings and high floor guys but what really stands out is they all have had success so far.
  22. One thing to remember, I think Westburg's best position would be 2B, but I didn't say he can't play SS. Of the two, I'd play Westburg at SS over Henderson despite Henderson's edge in arm strength.
  23. I don't know what EV information they had at the time of his drafting in 2019, but I do know he was supposed to be a high EV guy. Whether he "outperformed" his EV numbers depends on what he college numbers suggested. The difference of course being he used an aluminum bat in college.
