  1. Great. This is a long time coming. It gets boring watching guys crush balls up the middle or to the right said only for it to be right at one of the four infielders stationed in the exact right spot.
  2. No I understand why Baker gestured towards their dugout. I don't buy their excuse that Baker "always stares at our dugout every time he pitches". There has literally been no discussion about that ever, until they showed themselves as a bunch of babies last night.
  3. There's literally never been any mention of Bryan Baker staring into their dugout when he pitches, until now. Sorry, not buying it.
  4. Blue Jays dugout was chirping the whole inning at the umpire and presumably Bryan Baker thought at him too. So he ks Chapman to end the inning and gestures that they should keep talking and I guess that was enough for an entire dugout to lose their s--t. The Blue Jays organization has been a bunch of whiny Bs since the Bautista days.
  5. Jeez looked like he got that off the fists and still cranked it out there.
  6. That’s my problem with the rule. It can be argued that he was blocking a portion of the plate, while still allowing a lane to part of the plate. When this happens, all the base runner needs to do is slide wherever the catcher is and ask for a challenge. It’s a dumb rule put in place to stop injuries that rarely happened.
  7. Not sure why Mountcastle only gets placed at first. No way he wouldn’t have gotten to second on that play.
  8. That’s exactly where Chirinos setup on his. i thought he was safe anyway.
  9. Jeff Nelson has been awful but give him some credit. He let the Blue Jays run their mouths far longer than some other umps would have before finally tossing someone.
  10. Bottomline: Yesterday kind of sucked but it's only two games and it seems worse because it all happened in 1 day. It's not like there's only 5 games left in the season. Just have to stay positive.
  11. Well yeah he still comes set. I’m just saying if his established bouncing routine is slightly different, does that constitute a balk?
  12. Yep and thus the stupidity of the rule. Let’s say Gausmans routine is to bounce three times and then start his motion. If he only does it twice is that then a balk and is the umpire expected to be keeping count of the pitchers bouncing before a pitch?
  13. That’s the problem. It’s a judgement call. Unless it’s something obvious like the pitcher starts and stops or drops the ball or something, It’s always going to be arbitrary.
  14. That’s why the rule is stupid. Theoretically you can do all that kind of stuff if you do it every time. And just like that Santander Ks looking on a pitch a ball below the zone.
  15. Another example of the stupidity of the balk rule. What exactly did he do there? Also I’m not sure how he didn’t get tossed. He looked like he was ready to clock the umpire if Bichette doesn’t jump in front of him.
  16. Exactly. It is what it is. The Orioles can only control what they do. That's why I've said that missing the playoffs wouldn't be a failure to me because this has been such a fun season of baseball (one we haven't had in a while). Would I want them to make the playoffs? Of course. I don't think they're good enough to win once they get there, although I would love to be proven wrong.
