  1. Perfect pitch you Kremer nay-sayers
  2. Kremer pitched around Soto and got Judge to hit into a 5-4-3. So far so good. But here they come.
  3. Brings to mind an old Home Team Sports broadcast when the catcher took a foul tip right in the Jimmy Mel Proctor: "The trainer is seeing if he can count to 10" John Lowenstein: "He only has to count to two!"
  4. Good thoughts. Or... the worst umps at strike calling simply never get the home plate assignment on a crew.
  5. Wow... Trout needs surgery for torn meniscus
  6. McCann is going deep tonight. I can feel it.
  7. An unconventional double, but we'll take it
  8. So far he hasn't called borderline pitches in Kremer's favor. Bucknor even sucks at sucking.
  9. Sure wish he had been this effective when we had him
  10. It makes me wonder. Do the other umpires who end up in Bucknor's crew know just how awful he is?
  11. Bucknor is the poster child for Robo Ump
  12. Ryan Mountcastle... gold glover I like the sound of that
  13. @Can_of_corn is hardly "sky is falling". He's more "sky is absurd".
  14. I'd rather read a thousand reverse lock posts from Roy Firestone than a single truth nugget post from you.
  15. You clearly don't understand Roy Freaking Firestone. Or the diehard Orioles fanatic that he is. But you be you.
  16. Can a robot ump determine if a batter swings at a pitch or not? Can a RU add to the determination that a pitcher balks or not? Can a RU call a runner safe or out at the plate? Call a foul ball for a batted ball that doesn't reach the 1B or 3B bag? Call interference for a runner inside the 1B line? Robo Umps will not eliminate the need for a home plate ump. But they will reduce the volatility of what is called a ball/strike, which is all I really care about.
  17. Sound like an idea for Shark Tank
  18. I'm guessing you have never had the scoots before?
  19. And then his arm broke
  20. His velocity was fine. His location was awful, and I don't think he threw anything but fastballs.
  21. I know what my eyes saw, and my first thought was injury. But I'm not one to pull out the torch and pitchfork without knowing exactly what is going on.
  22. And you just provided evidence for what I was saying. Do you know for a fact that Kimbrel put himself above his teammates? Hyde (and Ebel) was much closer to the field than Palmer. He had every opportunity to pull Kimbrel. And he decided to leave him in. In the end, you very well could be correct in your speculation. But let's get some actual sources and facts first before making a blanket accusation.
  23. It was a serious question, was yours a serious answer?
  24. I can't argue with any of your ideas. My only beef is accusing Kimbrel of inappropriately hiding an injury without any actual knowledge or proof that he was doing so. Is it possible? Yes. Is it factual? To be determined.
