  1. I think I would do that deal, I just believe that with Miller's controllable years and the likelihood the A's will have so many suitors bidding, that package falls short of what it will take to acquire him.
  2. I agree that we need talent at the back end of the BP, but Miller will simply cost more than Elias or any of us want to pay. The O's will likely look for BP pieces with fewer years on their contracts, maybe even only 3-month rentals
  3. What package do you think it would take? And what would that do to our farm system? I'm thinking the A's would want pitching in return. What pitching prospects in our system are other teams drooling over?
  4. I don't think it would have been about laughter. Elias is very aware of player values. He would have hung up because he wouldn't want to decimate the farm system or major league club. Look at it this way. What would it have taken to acquire Felix Bautista in May of last year if the O's were already out of playoff contention? What package of players/prospects would Elias have demanded?
  5. With Miller's performance and contract status, Stowers and Norby would just be throw-ins. (IMO)
  6. I really don't think the O's have enough to get him, not without completely emptying the cupboard and losing players we really don't want to lose.
  7. So does Atlanta target a CF (or a big bat) at the deadline or something else?
  8. I added one long shot. Suppose Kimbrel goes on a little streak in the next 6 weeks and goes 10/10 in save opportunities. Would he be selected?
  9. And if we're talking insanely talented guitarists, the list isn't complete without Tommy Emmanuel.
  10. Randy "Rhoads" was as elite for the metal genre as Eddie Van Halen was for rock. I actually rate his material on par or better with any mainstream rock guitarist, even EVH. Rhoads was a rare gem who died so young at 26. IMO he was only going to get better.
  11. OK I'll bite, because I really don't know the answer. How many pitchers were regularly throwing 120 pitches in the last 10 years
  12. Awesome outing for Bradish. Have to think it's hard to go beyond 7 when you don't get early contact. I'll take it.
  13. Have to say... a 3-headed monster like Burnes/Bradish/GRod in the playorrs is very appealing.
  14. I take full credit for the runs this inning. The bats were struggling, so I moved out onto the patio. You're welcome.
  15. His Rock & Roll HOF speech was epic
  16. Hey... don't knock the Monowi City Fair. Best deep fried butter on the planet.
  17. This is a candidate for top post of 2024, maybe all time.
  18. And somehow I didn't get an invite?
