  1. THIS is my answer too. Clemens was dominant, and the O's beat him after the dreadful 1988 season.
  2. My twins were born in 2000, and one of them asked me during the 2010 season, "Dad, why do you watch the Orioles? They never win. " The reason I gave her was that my dad instilled upon me a love of the O's and baseball, and that means in the good and the bad times. We are in a really good time now, but I'll watch them no matter what.
  3. It's not that I didn't acknowledge her. It's that I didn't even know who she was and that the O's even had an Assistant GM
  4. Shrug... At least it's not as bad a response as Claudio/Danielle Reyna and Gio Reyna
  5. For someone thinking it was a silly question, you sure did have a lot to say about it. I wouldn't say it was silly, maybe just early timed
  6. I guess that assumes they think Stowers couldn't offer more offensive production against LH than McKenna. I'm not convinced that's the case. McKenna's lifetime OPS splits against RH/LH is 613/621. In 2023 it was reverse split at 731/638. In any event, I suppose I want to be more focused on overall value. Can Stowers potentially offer more value than McKenna's WAR of 0.6 over 3 seasons?
  7. I think you could be right, and that frustrates me. I think we've seen everything we're going to see from McKenna, and his value is so much tilted towards defense. Stowers and Kjerstad may not have the defensive strength and flexibility of McKenna, but my guess is that we would get more aggregate WAR out of them.
  8. I thought we had picked up some different player off the waiver wire.
  9. Other than his speed, I'm not sure he's ever thrived in a non-starting role. I predict a low .600 OPS and just below replacement value.
  10. My issue is that Mateo's production seems awful when he is part time (maybe his defense suffers too?)
  11. If Mateo isn't going to play much SS, I'm not sure why he would go north with the team.
  12. Henderson SS Rutschman C Mountcastle 1B Santander DH Hays LF Holliday 2B Mullins CF Westburg 3B Cowser RF
  13. My dream scenario... Urias and Mateo are traded/released and... Henderson SS Rutschman C Mountcastle 1B Santander DH Hays LF Holliday 2B Mayo 3B Cowser RF Westburg 3B
  14. How dare he keep the O's from winning 102 games instead of 101 with his sole error last year!
  15. Someone with options? Because if not I'd rather keep McKenna if he passes through waivers.
  16. The one thing Willard might have going for him is plenty of minutes for players in the transfer portal
  17. Well, I suppose it does for outfield depth in Norfolk. I personally would want McKenna as an emergency fallback if the shinola really hits the fan.
  18. Would McKenna pass through waivers or would someone claim him?
  19. You do realize we also had a lot of things go wrong too, and still won 101 games?
  20. There is also a DH spot to spread out ABs and provide rest
  21. I must have tried 5-6 different VPNs. Might have been an issue with my Roku or Firestick and the VPN apps available on them?
  22. They don't always work. MLB works really hard to defeat VPN workarounds. The only VPN that has ever worked consistently for me is Norton 360's, and that limits the devices on which I can watch games.
  23. If @Sports Guy says he's overlooked, then he surely must be overlooked
