  1. The Padres will welcome Adam with open arms and a 2-year deal worth $7.5mm/per plus an option for a 3rd.
  2. Corner player off the bench until he becomes too expensive.
  3. Steve Pearce rocks the Yankees! 4 home runs in two days.
  4. Braves have announced that Jose Bautista will become their starting third-baseman once he gets himself into playing shape in the minors.
  5. I would settle for new socks, but I have very low standards.
  6. All the best to Flash. When Manny leaves the O's might even overpay Flaherty to come back and play 3B, with Beckham moving to SS.
  7. Team goal for April is to score a run off a starting pitcher. Almost happened last night. Could be any day soon. Excitement building.
  8. Was planning on going, but don't want to miss the last X Files episode of the season.
  9. He's on a minor league contract. If he opts out (as he will if he isn't going to make the team) he will be a free agent and any team could negotiate a deal with him. No team would have to wait for him to pass through waivers or pick up his incentives. The incentives built into his Phillies deal would transfer only if he is traded, which isn't going to happen.
  10. Tillman to start Monday vs. Tigers,, according to Roch.
  11. No TV this weekend, not even a visitor's feed on MLB.TV. We will be counting on you for complete reports on all the action and descriptions of amazing plays that leave us breathless. Also, have a good time!
  12. His defense look like a man.
  13. Given their ages and injury histories, I think Bundy is a better comp than Gausman. Bundy had thrown very few innings before he came up to stay in 2016 because he was out of options. He was 23, just as Harvey is now. They used him in relief the first half of the year and put him in the rotation on July 17. He threw a total of 109.2 innings in 2016. I'm fine with them treating Harvey the same way, except he's not out of options so there's no reason to make him work out of the O's bullpen. Put him in the bullpen at Bowie or Norfolk and let him get used to throwing in real competition again. In July, if it looks like he's ready, bring him up and put him in the rotation. This way his innings can be managed and he'd be unlikely to hurt himself, and his health is the most important thing. I want to see him lead us to the playoffs for years to come, not just this year.
  14. Buck's done some great stuff for the O's, but I'm ready for his young replacement with the tablet tucked under his arm.
  15. Whom do you mean by "we?" DD has said that if we add the free agent pitching he wants that we'll be a contender. Hasn't happened yet. The team is not in "pull out all the stops" mode, nor should it be. I'm guessing there are some people in the organization who would like to go for it at all costs, but I don't think Duquette is one of those people. I'm not, either. I'd rather see us prepare for 2019 and beyond than make a last gasp effort at winning now. We have a weak rotation and no pitching depth. We have two big holes in the lineup in Davis and Trumbo. Too many things have to go perfectly to win, including no injuries to the pitchers. Don't rush Harvey and start his clock before he's ready. If they are seriously thinking about bringing up Harvey now, they should take a step back and sign Cobb instead. Then we could muddle along in the #5 slot. We still won't have a chance if Trumbo and Davis don't hit.
  16. For 35 games? Happens all the time.
  17. Let Joey play RF until Santander does his time on the ML roster (40 days?), then send down Santander and bring up Hays.
  18. He's not higher in the batting order. Sorry, couldn't resist.
  19. For being stupid enough to give him everything he asked for?
  20. Is it too soon to cut the playoff talk and make the rest of the year about seeing what Hays and Sisco can do?
  21. No need to make a move today. Leaving Hardy on the 60-day DL for now.
  22. It would be pretty great to play the WC game in Baltimore instead of the Bronx.
  23. You hang 'em, we bang 'em.
