The current 40-man: Who will be on our 25-man roster in 2022?
Greg Pappas replied to Greg Pappas's topic in Orioles Talk
Surprise possibilities would include Alberto and Santander. -
I started looking at our 40-man roster (listed below) in an attempt to determine who would be on the 25-man roster in three years. Which of the players do you believe will be with the team in 2022? You can either name them yourself, or copy, paste, and bold or highlight the players you expect to be here in 2022. Note: Ages are as of today (5/25/2019) and Age 2022 is as of March 28, 2022 (rough Opening Day date).

A couple of thoughts about our current catchers and Adley Rutschman
Greg Pappas replied to Frobby's topic in Orioles Talk
If we take Rutschman (highly likely) and he comes as advertised (very likely), it seems to me he'd be here at some point in 2021, but certainly by 2022. Severino has impressed in his short stint with us, and as Frobby said, maybe he or an instructor has figured out something with the bat. Severino's development with the bat versus Sisco's development with the glove could potentially determine the starter--- until Rut's arrival. Regardless of Severino's bat, he seems to be a quality defender, and that will earn a starting role on this team, unless Sisco can become at least average behind the plate. -
@Luke-OH In regards to the #MLBDraft, the team with the worst record at season's end gets the first pick in the following draft, BUT how is worst record defined? Is it by Winning % (as I suspect) or by Games Back of the Overall League leader? I'm asking because of the current situation. The Marlins have a .311 Winning %, and the O's a .312 Winning %, but we are 1/2 game farther behind the overall league leading Astros. I feel like I've looked this up before, but can't recall for sure. LOL!

I shouldn't laugh, but that thar was funny.

This could have a domino effect and find others taking this route. I wouldn't be surprised to see MLB attempt to find a way to make it less likely moving forward. How? No idea, but this Stewart situation could be setting a dangerous precedent for MLB.
