  1. Yeah, that draft was one where there wasn't anyone I was excited to choose at our spot, but Sedlock seemed the safest of the bunch. Over-usage is something I believe needs to be regulated, because (many/most) coaches care about winning more than protecting the future of their pro prospects.
  2. He is the guy I would have taken when he was drafted, so I have monitored his career. I've been hoping that he would recover from his injuries and eventually contribute here in Baltimore. There is a long way to go, but it's promising that he's showing good progress thus far this season.
  3. https://2080baseball.com/2019/04/2019-mlb-draft-mock-draft-v1/ I loved this Nick Faleris blurb on Rutschman at #1 to the O's:
  4. I was a bit confused about what I was supposed to do, so I canceled my Plus membership at Paypal and then renewed it. I suspect that wasn't necessary, but I did it anyway.
  5. Credit where credit is due. I may be mis-remembering, but I believe it was you that was pro-Means last year and felt he had a real shot to be a solid big league contributor. Well done. We all hope he continues his early success.
  6. It's great to see Rutschman (6'2-216 S/R) having an outstanding season. Odds are he'll be our pick at #1, though we have a ways to go before then. He's also considered a good defender behind the plate and seems like a strong overall #1.
  7. Yeah, Rutschman is the clear-cut #1 prospect, barring something unforeseen, while Witt will be an interesting prospect to follow, where ever he goes.
  8. I'd be pleased to see us consider an Oriole at some point in the next few years.
  9. That crossed my mind, in so far as them not signing together, but I'd say the odds are highly in favor of a package deal, and I didn't want to have too many poll choices. Good thought though.
  10. I wish I could insert a poll into a current thread, but that's not an option. Regardless, do you expect us to land the Mesa brothers?
  11. Yeah... I believe I've mentioned it before, but if Mountcastle isn't long for 3B, 1B seems like the next logical possibility.
  12. Mancini should DH, because he is poor defensively at 1B or LF. Trumbo presents an issue in this regard, but I'm hoping we can mange to deal him this off-season.
  13. Coupled with his historically bad play, Chris Davis is owed $92 million over the next four seasons. If you were in charge and able to make a decision, what would you do with him? Please, Vote and Reply. Note: I'd like to thank @Frobby for his suggestion of Option 3.

  15. I've advocated having some sort of electronic device to aid the umps, rather than outright replace them, for a number of reasons. I don't see how you can just replace an umpire behind the plate. There is a lot more to being a home plate umpire than ball and strike calls. I had not seen an idea like yours, where a special pair of glasses (ironic LOL) could be the way to implement the strike zone assistance I mentioned earlier. On the surface, I like your concept.
  16. Yeah, it really is something that needs to be fixed. I edited my post, seeing I typed "correcting" rather than "corrected".
  17. Thanks for your thoughts and for the time and effort put into this. Sedlock needs to return and remain healthy, and if he can do that, his star may rise rapidly. That's a big if, but it's quite possible, whether as a starter or reliever. Kline is another guy that still has a shot, having been limited via injuries. Time will tell. Rom and Zebron were good picks and both should factor into the Top 30 next year... or at least Rom. I have a really good feeling about Rom... but I'm often excited about early round High Schoolers' upside.
  18. Google Translator says, "There are no pretexts when you go behind your goal Listening to the skinny of Gold" ?
  19. I'm concerned that his odd 'double-clutching before throwing' is still happening. I'd have thought that they would have corrected this glaring issue. Hopefully they will, because he's made a number of sure outs way too close at first base.
  20. I think you meant Cincinnati, but yeah, if they go to 8 divisions, this is one setup that works.
  21. My stab at expansion and realignment... I've moved the divisions around a bit, but keep coming back to this one:
  22. I thought you'd all appreciate an MLB map, as a tool to help discuss expansion and realignment. I utilize it myself.
