  1. The money, the Boras factor and something in Martins background must gave bothered them and other teams to last until the 5th pick. boras facror
  2. Originally I wanted Gonzalez and then it became a Torkelson vs Martin show. Do you think Elias can spell our guys name?
  3. Elias thinks we are only football fans in Baltimore and don't study the mlb draft. Seriously! There's also the Boras factor.
  4. Elias thinks he's too smart for his own good. Wow! No place to throw up.
  5. 1. Spencer Torkelson 1B/RF 2. Bobby Miller P 3. Bryce Jarvis P
  6. Remember the names Bryce Jarvis and Bobby Miller for picks 30 and 39. Both pitchers! Keith Law says his sources inside the Orioles say they are not taking a pitcher with the 2nd pick. I still think Detroit will take Martin and we will hit the jackpot landing Spencer Torkelson with the 2nd pick. He hits the long ball to left and right field. He will excel at Oriole Park.
  7. I'm going against most everyone else. I think Detroit will surprise us and take Martin. Our picks; 2. Spencer Torkelson 30. Bryce Jarvis 39. Bobby Miller
  8. I think there will be a trade before long involving Givens and possibly Nunez. Just a hunch. infield; Davis, Iglesias, Alberto, Ruiz, Nunez. Valaika and Rondon Outfield; Mancini, Hays, Santander Williams, Mullins SP; Means, Cobb, Wojo, LeBlanc, Milone RP; Harvey, Bleier, Castro, Armstrong, Fry, Carroll and Eshelman Catcher; Severino, Holaday Sisco is a tough decision because of his left handed bat. Holaday has more experience and a better bat.
  9. Everyone knows to increase bat speed using a light bat will help. Has he considered this change?
  10. What I'm anxious to see is how much the power numbers drop for the Astro players this season. I bet it will be more than you think; Altuve 2012 7 HRs, 2013 5 HRs, 2014 7 HRs, 2015 15 HRs, 2016 24 GRs, 2017 24 HRs, 2018 13 HRs and 2019 31 HRs Springer 2015 16 HRs, 2016 29 HRs, 2017 34 HRs, 2018 22 HRs and 2019 39 HRs Bregman 2016 8 HRs, 2017 19 HRs, 2018 31 HRs and 2019 41 HRs Yurriel 2017 18 HRs, 2018 13 HRs and 2019 31 HRs All of these players benefitted from the cheating and why are they only limiting it to 2017? I think they've been cheating for 4 years. I'll go on record right now that none of the above players will hit over 20 HRS.

  12. There are many players who have started wearing contacts who saw a major improvement. I don't wear glasses but have bought reading glasses you get off a rack in a drug or grocery store for reading and it's like looking into a magnifying glass. Just enlarging a baseball can make a huge difference. He hasn't clarified the eye stuff comment. You can pass an eye test but still improve your vision.
  13. Now if he can stop chewing tobacco I"m sure he'll make his wfe and daughters happy along with fans who've lost friends to throat c. I've been saying for years there are definitely eye issues. From needing contacts to needing cataract surgery.
  14. Hyde would tell the media if that was the case.
  15. Is Eve our Kim NG who works in the league office and was a candidate for Elias's job? Similar skills?
  16. He was discussed last week. I'm glad we were able to get him. Only 25 ! Nice pickup worth keeping an eye on this Spring. Now lets sign McHugh or Sanchez.
  17. I would add him. Any updates on him?
  18. Where is the Hot Stove Show this week? Still at the radio station by invitation? Givens and Mancini are next and then Davis calls Elias and asks for a meeting to negotiate a buyout. Part of their plan. Millions more saved. Davis will not want to stay. We'll be under 40 mill pushing 30 afterwards and Elias can start over. It appears the days of trading major league players for at least one major league player coming back with prospects is over. I guess they'll stop selling jerseys in the Oriole store with names on the back. That will probably be ending soon.. Will fans buy shirts with Alberto and Ruiz on the back?
  19. I think it's time to raise the fences and deepening them where possible at Oriole Park. It would not be a major expense and would reduce the number of home runs that fly out of the park during the summer months. This would obviously benefit the pitchers and team. There are a lot of cheap home runs that make it just over the fences in all parts of the park. We benefit as well as the visiting teams but I think it would be a huge addition and would help lower our team ERA after it's completed. Lets start working on it NOW. It's an easy job for any contractor.
  20. With higher and deeper fences he could easily have won 10-12 games and with a better pen I can see him winning14-15 games for a number of teams. He is a very underrated pitcher who will excel with the right team. Hopefully Elias won't give him away.
  21. Elias has said they will listen to offers for anyone. Mancini is not going to be happy playing for this team after they deal Bundy and Givens and Elias will want to go to an all rookie outfield next year. Mancini and Bundy are both at $5.7 million. Cobb is next at 14 million and he hopes he gets off to a decent start in 2020 so they can deal him. Cut the payroll down to 36 million and take on Davis. He will do this with the hope Davis calls him and says he wants to negotiate a buyout. Is the draft supposed to be good in 2020? No # 2's for Mike. He wants number 1's. and big profits. Tare down the team and Davis will want to leave. Millions more saved........maybe?
  22. Now what will we get for Bundy, Givens and Mancini? They will be dealt in San Diego at the Winter meetings the week of the 8th -12th if not sooner. Count on it. Maybe we can bring the Norfolk team to Baltimore in 2020.
  23. I posted Olney's comments yesterday on here. Not reading everyone's posts?
  24. Arbitration-eligible Orioles ahead of Monday’s deadline include infielder Hanser Alberto, outfielder Trey Mancini, starting pitcher Dylan Bundy and relievers Mychal Givens, Miguel Castro and Richard Bleier. Anyone else leaving by Monday? Bundy, Givens and Mancini a longshot.
