  1. It’s like the Yankees have a crystal ball with a look into their future with Soto and Stanton on the same roster.
  2. Also, seeing the Yankees trade away whatever farm system they have in order for Cashman to keep his job and idiot Yankee fans happy is *chefs kiss*
  3. I hope Soto fails miserably. Soto might only be 25 still, but that body is filling out and not in a good way. IIRC, he brings practically no defensive value to the table and he’s still young. He’s trending towards fat, he’s already slow. Just need to wait till he gets old and his hitting skills erode a little bit and he’ll be a liability that Yankees hopefully can’t get rid of after they’re stupid enough to extend him. Maybe like a Stanton 2.0.
  4. I’d be stoked if they got Stephenson.
  5. Kimbrel is becoming a really strong Immaculate Grid candidate.
  6. Johnson or McDermott. Ortiz is up there, too. I dunno, there's just something I like about that guy, I think it's that he brings a glove that the rest of the MI talent can't quite match. Gun to my head, the only one is Seth Johnson.
  7. You're right, but we like playing semantics here and he did take a guy in the Rule 5.
  8. Elias: "It's a lot less likely than ever" that we take a guy in the rule 5. *Elias takes a guy in the Rule 5 from Colorado* SG: Moose, your reading comprehension sucks, he said it's a LOT LESS LIKELY meaning there's STILL A CHANCE. He didn't say he WOULDN'T he said that there's a lot less of a chance. But go ahead, you're wrong, he never says anything, lol Although I do agree with @interloper, it is historic we didn't take anyone in the MLB portion.
  9. Maybe our staff/analytics department can tease out a slightly better performance. If not, and he saves at a rate like he did last year, he still takes away some of the sting of losing Bautista.
  10. Oh, he's said it multiple times! Well then, that's a different story. I'd love to be wrong, but I've been down this path before. I'll believe it when I see it.
  11. There were starters out there to be had last year, too.
  12. Yep, I totally am. I like Elias a lot, I'm a big Elias Fanboy. But whenever he says something about what his plans are and it gets sliced and diced and analyzed every possible which-way on here, I think it's hilarious. You guys were the kids playing Ozzy Osbourne records backwards in the 80s looking for hidden messages. He is an absolute master at saying things without saying anything at all. It's fantastic and yes, I'm totally ignoring/not believing any of it. That's not me calling him a liar, I just think he believes whatever he's saying "in the moment" and what he said last week or last month has no bearing on what he's thinking or doing today.
  13. He looked like late stage Kirby Puckett out there. It was bad.
  14. I'm not sure why you're convinced we acquire a SP. I'll maintain that they're looking for Bradish to repeat what he did, a full year of G-Rod at his 2nd half performance level (or close to it), a fully healthy Means, Kremer to be a 4th/5th and Wells/Hall/IIrvin to fill out the last spot. Might get some more bullpen pieces here but I think the rotation is largely set.
  15. That's true. I thought the Givens signing last year was an average move....I don't think anyone of us saw the disaster it turned out to be though. This is a far better signing, for sure.
  16. I'm coming around on Kimbrel, especially with the LF wall in Baltimore. Shores up the bullpen a bit, for sure.
  17. said. “There’s just a lot of good things that can happen. So we just want to see what he looks like. He’s going to be treated in this major-league camp not like a prospect where we’re kind of having fun having him in camp for the experience of it, but like a guy trying to make the team.” You guys! They’re going to treat him not like a rookie having fun at spring training, but like a guy trying to make the team! What does it mean?!?!?
  18. So then this would be kind of the opposite of being on the OD roster. Elias says he’s got a shot at the OD roster but of course he’s going to say that. He wouldn’t NOT say that.
