  1. Two quick things: I like Brandon Hyde. I hope he's given the chance to manage this team once we've acquired/grown better talent. I typically can't stand armchair managing. Everyone behind a keyboard is always a genius and always knows better. That said... WTF was Hyde thinking when he brought in Armstrong who hasn't had any action in a week to face Stanton with the bases loaded? And WTF was he thinking bringing Sceroler in to make his ML debut against Judge with the bases loaded? Even though Sceroler got out of it, the move just didn't make sense. I suppose if you're waving the white flag and giving up on this game, sure. But don't set your pitcher up to fail, even if the game is a bit out of hand.
  2. Even though Sceroler got out of it, it was still a stupid move.
  3. I don't think he was a bad fielder to begin with but I think the mistakes compounded on him and he's lost some confidence. Seems like after he's made an error he's more hesitant out there and that just leads to further issues.

    Ohtani

You weren't there. You don't know.
  5. I agree on most of these takes, though Stewart doesn't straight up suck...his OBP tool is actually really good. He can't stay healthy, either, though. And Moutcastle was decent in the outfield last year although ideally he's a 1B/DH type. You have to leave room for Mullins to come around a bit as a LH only bat. It's a lot of outfielders to wade through to see who sticks. I don't think Diaz is a guy but you have to get a look at him to see if he can prove otherwise. Hays is making it easy to count him out which is unfortunate because he's got a good skill set.
  6. Hopefully Gunnar Henderson is in the mix. They seem to be high on Jordan Westburg but I don't totally see it.
  7. And anyone who's looking to trade for Hays is going to take a look at his injury history. I don't think you could get an "amazing" offer for a guy who's got a .735 OPS in 76 games across 4 seasons because he's been hurt so much. You can talk about his talent all day long, that's fine. No one disagrees that he's a talented guy. But at some point the talent doesn't matter...staying on the field does. I don't think we'd get an "amazing" offer for him strictly because of that. So we're most likely stuck with him. Maybe he shakes off the injury thing, maybe he doesn't.
  8. Yep. Lopez vs. Montgomery, Kremer vs. Cole, Means vs. Taillon.
  9. Alternate theory, Roch is actually SG. Have they been seen in the same room together?
  10. Kjerstad belongs on a milk carton.
  11. Mullins. He's already ahead and Hays just can't stay on the field. I'm not overreacting to the hamstring today but if you had to pick one Oriole position player to exit the field early in the first series of the season due to an injury who would you pick? I agree with @ChosenOne21 that Hays is probably the better player but it doesn't matter if he can't stay healthy. If Mullins hitting from the left side full time turns out to be a good move he might have a full time starting job here.
  12. I think we all had pretty low expectations headed into the season. I know the Sox aren't supposed to be that good this year but I don't think any of us would have expected sweeping them to start the 2021 campaign. If you didn't know who was supposed to be the worst team in the division this year and watched this series, I think anyone would believe that the Sox are the worst team in the division this year. The Orioles simply looked better in all facets of the game across the opening three games. I especially liked that we were able to get to their bullpen in the first two games and fully expose them in the third game, chasing their starter early and racking up runs on an already short bullpen. Of course there's a lot more baseball to go this season but you have to like how we started it. And as an aside...**** the Sox. **** them right in the neck. I hate the Yankees, but I hate the Sox even more. Knowing that they have the capacity to be as bad as they were this series and they're paying 175 million to be that awful makes it even sweeter.
  13. Nice to win the first series of the season.
  14. We win! Valdez tightroped that 9th.
  15. This is getting ugly, fast. Valdez obviously can't go back to back games.
  16. Hey, look, it's Dillon Tate. Somewhere @Can_of_cornis angry.
  17. Yeah, you guys are right. Seems a bit arbitrary, he still threw more pitches and worked more innings than anyone else.
  18. I'm not sure who's in line for the win if we get it here but I'd be happy for either Harvey or Plutko.
