I don't blame them, I wish all teams would. I don't want to wear a mask at a game, either. Can't expect adults to act like adults anymore, which is unfortunate. If you really want to go back to a game, get a shot. It's a reward.

No one knows if Franco will be at 3rd all year. It's an OH wet dream that we sign scrap heap guys, they'll somehow perform better than expected and we'll be able to net a prospect or something at the deadline. I don't know if he'll likely be traded, neither do you. They can experiment all day long with Ruiz at 2nd base, that's fine...but I don't see how he fits. I don't like Valaika's defense but I think he's got to be better at 2nd base. Urias certainly should be.

IMO, Ruiz really doesn't have a place on this roster. Seems like a good dude, might have a little pop but I don't see why anyone would give him a glove, anywhere. I don't think Bannon will hit well enough to stick at the big league level but I dunno. Oh well, I'm assuming Elias has something up his sleeve. If Ruiz is the OD 2nd baseman, something is wrong.

Ruiz at 2nd base isn't a viable plan for the entire season.

RE: Akin, this is a bunch of handwringing. He'll probably be the first or second guy called up. He'll have plenty of opportunity to show that he is what he is.

I'm too lazy to look it up but I think we've tattooed Eovaldi in the past. That guy has too much good natural stuff to be the pitcher he is. Then again, Kevin Gausman exists, too.

I'm hoping for a huge year from him, too. That would be good for baseball.

The justification is that he's a young arm with some upside, people tend to think. 5 innings in an ST game isn't the measuring stick to see if a guy deserves a rotation spot.

Where's it been reported that Keegan Akin is being optioned to AAA? I'm certainly not a believer in that guy but he should have a rotation spot this year to prove me correct.

I think there could be some pretty good upside here. Hays and Stewart with their injuries are unreliable though.

I'm not sure how athletic Vaughn is...he certainly looks like a well built, in shape guy but I'd be wary of sticking a guy who's a 1B/DH type into the outfield this quickly for fear of pulling a hamstring or a quad when there are other outfielders at your disposal in ST. I'm sure they can run someone else out there and keep Vaughn at a position where he doesn't have to run as much.
