I was hoping for Urias today. I agree, Ruiz's bat isn't too special to try him at 2nd base. Like Bob Uecker says in Major League, some people say that you can tell how the season will go based on the first at bat of the season...looks like we're going to have a squibber of a season...

I thought they were going to have a better 2nd base option in the lineup today. Kinda disappointing here. Also, MASN can go screw themselves with the 30 seconds of Garceau and Palmer talking while watching the players warming up and then cutting it back to commercial.

I am missing Gary Thorne already. Missing those golden pipes. But at least Palmer is here.

Contender to miss the playoffs? Absolutely.

A lot can happen between now and next year but I think it's a giant stretch to believe we can be contenders next year.

Our infield defense is probably going to be pretty bad. Ruiz at 2nd base is going to wear out quickly, I believe. I think the outfield defense can be pretty great. Hay should be before Ruiz in the lineup, anyway. I'd prefer to see a Mullins/Hays 1-2 punch at the top of the order with Mancini 3rd. Then again, I believe hand wringing over lineups is overrated.

It was coming down hard and fast for a bit. But those snowstorms with the giant flakes don't last for long. A couple innings later you would have had no idea it had been snowing before. Snowed here in VA a little bit like that, too.

No but there's this idea that guys leave Baltimore and go on to do better elsewhere. It's true. Gausman wasn't great. That's why we traded him for bad bargaining chips and Atlanta dumped him quickly, too. SF might have been able to figure him out but I wouldn't bet on it.

I dunno about anyone else here but when I see a game that's been postponed, there's like a 2 second period after where I'm like, "They mean delayed, right? They're still gonna play today, right? Doesn't postponed mean the same thing as...ah, wait, no it doesn't..."

The key is to park in the corner of the parking lot facing outward so you can see anyone who might be approaching.
